Book Tour: Introducing Andrea Kane

When I see that Andrea Kane has a new release coming out, I immediately log in to my Amazon account and preorder. I must have her books in hardcover – no book club editions, please – before anyone else can get their hands on them. No exceptions.

That’s because I know when I open an Andrea Kane novel, I will be riveted to the pages until the characters draw their last breathes. Her novels hold me captive until the very last page, and for a suspense junkie like me, that rocks.

Kane started out penning historicals, but after 14 titles – including the insanely popular The Silver Coin and The Gold Coin - Kane moved into my genre: romantic suspense. That’s when things really started heating up. With each novel, Kane continued to hone her craft and find a way to ratchet up the tension with characters I could not get enough of. (My FAVs include The Scent of Danger and No Way Out.) Now, she’s moved into more grisly territory with her new romantic thriller series, guaranteed to set the genre on fire.

Kane passed through rigorous background checks just to get past the Quantico gates. Then, she worked with instructors and agents, absorbing every little detail she could about murder, interrogation tactics, hostage negotiations and anything they would talk to her about. She even got personal lessons on how to fire a Glock, the preferred law enforcement weapon. She made FBI lingo part of her own vocabulary and created a glossary of terms for her readers, who will become intimately familiar with the global agency with more than 30,000 employees.

This week, we’ll chat with Kane about her career, her new series and what it was like to be in Quantico. You can also find out more about her new hero, the dangerously sexy Derek Parker, and hot heroine, Sloane Burbank , ex-lovers thrown together to find the person responsible for gruesome murders.
