The authors of the horrifically popular Wicked Dead series sit down with Angela Wilson this week and talk writing, life and share a sneak peak of the latest installment, Snared. 

Before the Web, it took some digging to find out when and where your favorite authors were on tour. Then, it wasn’t always easy to get to the venue.  If you were lucky enough to make it, then chances were you could not get any good face time with the author because of the line of people also waiting for an autograph and a handshake.

The Internet has changed that. Now, authors are only a Google search and button click away. We meet them on MySpace, share jokes with them on FaceBook, and find out what they are reading on Shelfari. With the invention of the blog, we can now hear from them directly and learn about their lives and latest projects via virtual book tours.

It was destiny when two authors with a penchant for the horrifically macabre met at a writers meeting in New York. They talked about their obsession with things that go bump in the night, and favorite episodes of classic horror tales on Twilight Zone and Night Gallery, and watched the evolution of the genre in shows like Tales from the Crypt, Buffy and Supernatural.

One day, Stefan Petrucha and Lee Thomas decided to create their own ghoulishly clever world and, after a lot of thought, Wicked Dead was born. In this series, four ghostly girls take turns rolling the bones. Whoever gets them in just the right configuration is granted a scary tale. The trick? The girls must keep hoping for just the right tale – the one that tells exactly how they died – so they can finally escape the orphanage and Headmistress who hold them hostage between this world and the next. 

This week, we chat it up with these two, get a sneak peak of Snared, the third installment in the Wicked Dead series, and find out what makes them jump when they hear a bump in the night.
