Living without goals, dreams or desires. Breathing and waiting for life to happen. Working in a corporate world filled with flunkies, floozies, cross-dressers, plenty of heroin and debauchery.
That’s what readers get when they pick up the wickedly witty novels of David S. Grant. A man after author Jason Starr’s own heart, Grant explores the deep-seated emptiness inside generations of new corporate blood who are all about the party – and completely unprepared when the fun goes all to hell.
Grant’s storytelling is called transgression fiction, a reality-based genre that digs deep for the story beneath the story – the one that taps the darkest recesses of humanity.
Grant’s wicked prose will appeal to fans of Jason Starr, who delves into the daily insanity of self-centered people in the midst of criminal crises. Interestingly enough, the author says that his writing reflects real life - his life in Bleach. Once he tapped these memories into a fictional account, he was curious to see where his character were three years later. That was the impetus for Blackout.
This week, we tap beneath the surface of Grant’s skin to find out more about the writer, and bring you a special sneak peek of Blackout, one of two full-length novels featured in his new book Bleach/Blackout.
