This meatloaf recipe was developed by my mother-in-law, and my husband created the absolutely delicious gravy. We love it so much, we sometimes have this on holidays with homemade mashed potatoes! – Marilyn Peake
Meatloaf Ingredients
3 lbs of ground beef
1 package onion soup mix
2 cups bread crumbs
1 cup milk
Meatloaf Directions
Mix ingredients in a bowl. Then put mixture in a rectangular glass baking pan and form a rectangular loaf. Bake for about one hour at 400 degrees, or until center is at least 170 degrees. Cool for 10 minutes, then slice and serve with gravy.
Gravy Ingredients
1 package onion soup mix
2 packages brown gravy mix
16-oz. can whole tomatoes
2 cups water ... or 1 cup water and 1 cup wine (Rose or White Zinfandel wine)
Gravy Directions
Put canned tomatoes in a saucepan and cut into pieces. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix. Cover and cook on low-medium heat for 30 to 40 minutes.

Marilyn Peake is the author of both adult and children’s literature. In addition, she’s served as Editor for a number of anthologies and novels.

Marilyn’s trilogy of children’s fantasy adventure novels- -The Fisherman’s Son, The City of the Golden Sun and Return of the Golden Age - -have received many positive reviews. The Fisherman’s Son audio book- -produced by a professional audio production company, read by the voice actor, Andrew Dollar- -was named a Finalist in the 2006 ForeWord Magazine Book of the Year Awards. Piers Anthony wrote a wonderful review of the eBook version.
Marilyn’s other writing awards include the Silver Award and three Finalist placements in the 2007 ForeWord Magazine Book of the Year Awards, two Honorable Mentions in the 2008 ForeWord Magazine Book of the Year Awards, Winner of the 2008 and 2009 EPPIE Awards, two Finalist placements in the 2008 EPPIE Awards, and Winner of the 2006 Dream Realm Awards.
Marilyn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology. Before becoming a full-time writer, she worked as a Social Worker and Staff Psychologist. Her Masters Thesis research was presented at an annual meeting of the Eastern Psychological Association.
