Is it safe sex in a hot tub?  And what to do about a tight vagina?

Is it safe to have sex in Jacuzzis and swimming pools? I have found myself wanting to do it, but not sure about pregnancy issues. Do I need a condom? If I come in the water can she still get pregnant?

Hi Chris,

I have very limited experience with hot tubs. I’ve asked my good pal and mentor Suzanne Portnoy author of the best-selling novels, The Butcher, The Baker, The Candlestick Maker: An Erotic Memoir and The Not So Invisible Woman.  As an owner of a hot tub here’s what she had to say:

Well, firstly, it’s quite difficult to come in a hot tub. I have only met one man in my life that managed it and I’ve shagged at least twenty in mine. The warm water makes it difficult for the balls to contract and so my bf stays hard without coming for a very, very long time.

As for pregnancy issues, well obviously if a guy did manage to come in the hot tub inside a woman who was not using contraception, she might get pregnant!! Doh!

As for safe sex, I wouldn’t have sex with anyone in a hot tub I didn’t know was disease free although what with the chlorine they use, I’d suggest it was highly unlikely. The hardest part about having sex in a hot tub is staying lubricated as the water tends to keep washing away one’s natural lubrication.

I have a problem. My girlfriend and I were both virgins when we started having sex. We’ve only had sex a few times and it’s difficult to enter her. She’s very tight. In my experience almost every straight guy loves the idea that his penis might be “too big” for his girlfriend.  I mean doesn’t it boost your ego to know that you may have a monster cock?

In reality, I’m going to guess that you probably are Mr. Average when it comes to penis size.  If your girlfriend was a virgin there’s a good chance that her vagina was (and still is) tight.  This may be due to nervousness, lack of lubrication, an undiagnosed gynecological issue, Vaginsimus or maybe your cock is just too big.
