My first vent has to do with the “Pussycat Dolls.” Yes, I watched every episode. I couldn’t help myself. Cheesy? Absolutely. But I wanted to see what happened with these girls and few of them actually had talent.
So what’s my vent? The winner. Nothing against Asia, she’s a cute girl and she can dance. But her voice was like fingernails on a chalkboard for me. Did they not watch the tapes of Asia with the other girls/young women? She did not play well with others, which to me would be important for someone joining a group of established singers. I mean, she was trying to wrestle the other contestants. The chick has some serious issues.
Sure she’s a young mother and I know that makes good press, but was she really the best choice? I’m not so sure. I know Chelsea wasn’t the greatest dancer, but that girl can sing. And though Melissa was a bit arrogant, she certainly had the full package. It’s over, nothing can be done, but it still bugs the hell out of me. I know, get over it.
And since they are already casting for season two of the show, how long is Asia really going to last?
On to ‘American Idol’ unlike many critics I thought they did good with the charity show. Lots of great performances, and fun was had by all. I don’t know about you guys, but Jordin actually made me teary-eyed when she sang. That girl is rockin’ awesome.
Which is why I was thoroughly peeved when the producers set it up so it looked like she was the one to go home on Wednesday night. It’s a good thing she’s young, anyone else would have had a nervous breakdown or heart attack. I know they wanted viewers to continue to tune in, but I don’t think the way they did it was fair to Jordin or Chris. They could have said at the top of the show that no one was going home and it wouldn’t have spoiled the fun.
But reality television isn’t about being fair. It’s about keeping those viewers tuned in. I think that’s why I get a kick out of shows like “Girls Next Door.” Yes, it objectifies women, and is nothing but eye candy TV. Maybe that’s why I like it. I don’t have to think, and I’m entertained.
Have you guys watched “Sons of Hollywood” even though I told you not to? I keep up with it off and one, but I can only take about 15 minutes at time. Sean Stewart is the worst one. That guy needs to grow up in a big way. I just want to punch him sometimes. I wonder if he’s watching the show and noticing how ridiculous he is. And how about his friends? What kind of friends party so hard in front of you when you’re a recovering alcoholic and drug addict? I think he needs to hang around someone else.
Yes, I know, its just television. Oh, and how about that penis fish on “Grey’s Anatomy?” Anyone else gross out in a major way? And the way they ended “October Sky” ended the season? Argh.
