The cast of The Sarah Connor Chronicles speaks to PopSyndicate.

Did you see the premiere of “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles”? I thought you guys might like to hear from the actors about the new Fox series.

Q: Summer, did you take anything from the Terminators who have gone before?

Summer Glau: I adore Arnold Schwarzenegger, and I don’t know if I’m going to be much like him. I think the way that we’re going to make my Terminator the most advanced mode so far is her human traits. She’s going to be the most human one so far. I’ve seen the films, and I can’t be like them, so I have to do my own thing. Hopefully, people will like it.

Q: Lena, what are your workouts like these days?

Lena Headey: I’m always training, and doing regular workouts. You’ll see her grow stronger as we go along. But the workouts are pretty intense. Summer will tell you the same thing. It’s a great deal of training.

Q: Summer, Can you talk about playing the characters like River, and the Terminator, who are nothing like you?

Summer: I think it’s actually easier to play something that’s so far from myself. In a way River was a lot like my new character because she is so isolated and different from the other characters in how she relates and communicates. But she’s very strong, and she can’t genuinely feel emotion. River was the opposite; she was just a jumble of emotions. I think with the new character I want people to relate to her and in some way see themselves. I’m excited about it.

Q: Thomas can you talk about playing this guy, who has a hard time believing he’s supposed to save the world?

Thomas Dekker: It gives me a lot to work with to be honest. He’s so conflicted. He’s a kid in high school, and even though they’ve already been through so much, he just wants a normal life. I have to tell you, I grew up on these films and I was really hooked. I really related to John, and I’m hoping people feel the same way when I’m playing him. He’s just going to have to wake up to the fact that this thing isn’t going away, and he has to step up to the plate.

Q: Lena, you aren’t much older than your co-stars, is it weird to play the mom?

Lena: (She laughs.) Thank you. It’s not something I really think about to be honest. I love this character. She’s strong, smart and she’s a survivor. I feel protective of Thomas in a way, so I can understand that mother’s instinct.
