The episodes began Sunday night, and focus on Tony’s life, which is crazier than ever. There’s pressure from law enforcement, problems at work and on the home front. He discovers that there really is no one he can trust.
Eddie Falco, Lorraine Bracco, Michael Imperioli, Dominic Chianese and the rest of the gang will return for these episodes.
“It isn’t easy for me to believe that we are really at the end,” says creator David Chase. “I don’t like to think about it.”
“It’s bittersweet,” adds Gandolfini. “I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished, and at the same time it’s tough to think that I won’t be able to work with these people every day. That makes me sad.”
So will the show go out with a bang? Chase smiles, “You won’t be disappointed.”
On the other end of the spectrum is the debut of “Notes from the Underbelly” Thursday on ABC. The comedy follows the trials and tribulations of a couple who have just discovered she’s pregnant. It’s based on Risa Green’s book, which takes a more realistic and funny look at what pregnancy is really about.
“It sort of debunks that myth of the glowing pregnant woman,” says creator Stacy Traub. “We talk about what’s like when you don’t fit in your clothes and you realize you can’t drink at parties any more. It changes your life.”
For those of you who like nature… On Saturday you can check out “Spring Watch” on Animal Planet. Jeff Corwin and others will show nature as it blooms and grows in real time. Eggs will hatch and fish will swim but it “it won’t all be good things that happen,” says Corwin. “Nature can be harsh, and we’ll be showing that side of it too.”
If you’re wondering what happened to “Wedding Bells” on Fox, it’s been canceled. Though officially it’s on hiatus. But when Fox says, “The last episode aired on April 6,” I can take a hint. It was one of the shows where I liked the premise and the actors, but it just didn’t gel.
I knew Wedding Bells was doomed when they said it’s regular night would be Friday. NOTHING survives on Friday Nights on FOX. NOTHING!
