Let’s face it, we don’t need another incident of having to wait for a second printing of Robin or Nightwing just to figure out what the eff happened with that Ra’s Al Ghul story.

Holy blah-blah-blah Batman! These podcasts sure do like to talk… and talk and talk. Seven days of listening to as many podcasts as I could and I still had 44 more episodes left.

I have one request for you podcasters: spoil everything. Anyone smart enough to download your episode should already know they are about to get educated.

Here’s what was of note after the jump.

I have one request for you podcasters: spoil everything. Anyone smart enough to download your episode should already know they are about to get educated.

Here’s what was of note after the jump.

5/1 Crank Cast‘s Mike Norton did a signing at Amazing Fantasy in Frankfort, IL. I probably should have mentioned that earlier.

5/7 Birds of Geek talks to Dan Ryder about his efforts to bring graphic novels to Maine’s public school libraries and his own class on pop-culture.

5/7 Collected Comics Library starts relating the free comics to their ccl counterparts about halfway through the episode.

5/7 About Heroes One hundred one episodes later finally admit they haven’t had a good show since episode 38. But don’t take my word for it, tons of viewer mail. PLus a discussion about the importance of event comics needing optional tie-ins and not required reading. FCBD recap: DC: Universe Zero should have been on the list. Plus, X-men must have been a challenge for Greg Land finding pictures of 14-year-old porn stars.

5/8 KomicsKast recaps Pittsburg Comic Con. Um, what’s a BOP? Anyway, high praise for Girls with Slingshots‘ print edition, and other attendees.

5/8 Radio Wayne checked out FCBD at Yancy Street Comics in Florida as a 501st Star Wars Trooper. Nerd. Also an interview with Steve Bryant of Athena Voltaire

5/9 Fanboy Video gives a video montage of CAPE 2008 to the smooth stylings of Yelle’s À cause des garçons. p.s. it’s Dave Sherrill with two L’s

5/9 Catch Da Craze‘s Samuel Vera catches up with a back log of interviews from NYCC. Scott Simmons and Brant Fowler of < a href="http://www.wannabezcomic.com/about.html">Wannabez interview and upcoming con schedule attendances.

5/9 Comic Book Page‘s Mayo Report goes over the top selling Trades and the benefits for Indy comics. 31 new trades offered by Marvel? Good luck stocking them all. Plus, some number crunching hinting at low price sellers. mayo hasn’t read Fables: 1001 Nights of Snowfall yet. Light your torches and grab your pitchforks.

5/9, 5/12 Pulp Secret gives us the four most important word you need to know: Rampant Misogynist Dave Sims. Also, Newsarama’s last remnants of reviewing actual comics with some preview reviews.

5/9, 5/10 Alternate Reality reviews Iron Man the movie, even though everyone has seen it by now. Plus they have a roundtable discussion of Alan Moore’s League of Extraordinary Gentlemen which is shockingly unlike the movie.

5/10 Amazing Spider-Cast sells out and reviews Iron Man proving that even they need a break from Brand New Day.

5/10 Comic Book Noise‘s Burning Trash spends their third episode eventually reviewing Birds of Prey, but gives a background of the bat-verse for you trade seekers. Notes that Gail makes food references and that Ed Benes needs to stop drawing female characters with panties riding up their butts.

5/10 Comic Book Savant reviews DC Countdown spinning the f-word count into triple digits—not that I could blame them.

5/10 Comic Book Queers announces the winners of the 2008 Queeries with hot puppet on puppet action. However, they seem to forget that everything is bigger in Texas (winks at Steve).

5/11 Comic Book Noise‘s Comics Playground up in arms about one of their LCS not participating in FCBD and another is limited their free comics to one per customer.

5/12 Comic Addiction interviews Mike Carey.

5/13 Indie Comic Book Noise‘s Bruce Rosenberger announcement his retirement from this podcast, but not his other casts and efforts. Quitter!

5/13 Around Comics stalks guests at the Emerald City Comic Con, bitches about WSLC laws. Come to Texas, we’ll let you drink if you even look like you’ve hit puberty.

5/13 Comic News Insider hops across the pond to interview Doctor Who writer, Paul Cornell and his upcoming comic book with Captain Britain. That and British kids pee in public.

If I didn’t review your podcast, sorry. I tried to get to them all.

Even superheroes age. No!, It's True!

Donald Soffritti’s Comic Book Superheroes and Villains Drawn as Old People:

Italian comic artist Donald Soffritti drew very funny cartoons of what super heroes and villains would look like in old age! Doc Ock above doesn’t seem too thrilled having all those arms to carry grocery bags home.
Tons of other excellent drawings of super heroes as fat, middle aged men and women: Link - Thanks Haendel Dantas!

What? You only got ten free comics from your LCS? You’re just upset you didn’t get All Star Superman even though you already bought it.

Face it, podcasts only care about what they read and laughing at their own jokes for three hours, which is why I identify with them so well.

Here are a few so far that remotely covered the most important day for comics this year.
