Comic Book Podcasts in Chicago

There were lots of Wizard World Chicago recaps this week.  Here’s how it went: it was fun, we drank a lot, saw the strip club booth, etc.  We get it.  I’m sure next week will turn out more WWC episodes as well (can’t wait to hear the same stories at SDCC too).

Here are some that did not discuss the convention.

6/25 Art and Story discusses short form/serialization in stories.  Using smaller chapters to keep readers interested will also force compression on the author as well.

6/26 The Webcomic Beacon interviews Josh Lesnick about his dirty dirty naughty webcomic.  And some guy trying to sound drunk, but comes gets Down Syndrome instead.

6/27 Thoom318 thought House of M sucked.  While the art was good, the story just proved to be a cash gimick for than a good comic.

6/28 2 in 1 Showcase looks and the comic strip industry and the rise of web comics.

6/29 Dollar Bin records the Tom Spurgeon panel discussion with Marc Waid, Dan Didio (in the same room!), Erik Larsen, and Jimmy Palmiotti (who was late) at Heroes Con.  Discussed economic impacts, creators rights, diversifying properties, Dan Didio’s sexy walk.  Then they slapped each other with white gloves and stepped outside for a dual.

6/30 Webcomics Weekly tries out a new recording system that kicks ass.  They all live in different places and manage to have a conversation without sounding like they’re talking through tin cans.  I just want an entire episode of laughter.  It’s like therapy.

7/1 Comic Book Noise explains the “punk rock epiphany” of comic books and some other facts that make you scratch your chin.

Blogging about not blogging is a sin, I know, but I promise to have more podcast reviews next week.
