Comic Book Podcasts miss Rory Root
All of the podcasts take their turn in remembering Roy Root by talking about their DCBS sponsorship for the first five minutes. Totally kidding, I didn’t hear a peep.
But to be fair, 1, I Read Comics always talks about his shop and 2, I only got to a few episodes this week as my own LCS proprietor just had surgery and I didn’t want to impede his recovery with all this foolishness. Totally kidding, I’m never fair.
Breakdowns after the jump.
4/27 Geek Girls latest podcast was back in April, but their boobs made me gravitate toward them. I’m now terrified of them.
5/21 Comic Timing‘s BK’s Bullets was only 20 minutes, so we can get the full scope of his unemployment. Finally turns in his FCBD report, but forgot to turn down his stereo.
5/21 Comic Book Noise talks about father issues, which happens a lot in both comics and in real life. I got a bit teary.
5/21 How did Collected Comics Library get a press pass to Motor City? He skipped Saturday, skipped the panels, skipped the lines and talked about it all of ten minutes.
5/21 Fanboy Radio talks with Scott Kurtz about 10 years of PVP. Go get Boom Blox.
5/22 Geeks Unite talks about holiday traditions and gift giving in Japan. Reviews the Spider-man Freak storyline and other comic books.
5/22 Gigcast doesn’t want their kids to read Ménage à 3 event if the guys are doing the “hey nani nani” in the privacy of their own home (totally legal in Texas btw even if they’re going straight to hell). Plus, dancing on Ted Kennedy’s grave.
5/23 11 O’Clock Comics drills holes into my brain with their Skype issues. Really happy they warned me about House Of Mystery’s “bug” issue though.
5/23 Webcomics Weekly should have waited until after Lea’s post before discussing intellectual property rights. You know, it isn’t any fun if you cant name names. No sense eating during a show if you won’t dish the dirt. Plus, hear Brad get on his soapbox.
5/24 Funnybook Babylon is lucky Warren Ellis doesn’t listen to comic book podcasts. Discussion about the cost of comics and TPB in the internet age.
5/26 About Heroes chats about what they read this week.
