My industry sources tell me that Heath Ledger has been discovered dead in his Manhattan Residence. No indication as to cause of death but I’m told it’s been ruled out that it was a crime.
More on this breaking story as it develops.

**UPDATE**
Associated Press reports:
NYPD spokesman Paul Browne told The Associated Press that Ledger had an appointment for a massage at the Manhattan apartment that is believed to be his home. The housekeeper who went to let Ledger know the masseuse was there, and found him dead at 3:26 p.m, Browne said.
If true this is a sad day and if this is a publicity stunt, Chris Nolan is a genius on the level of Andy Kaufman.

I was just chatting away about trash flicks and this shows up. This is truly sad, yes.

Yeah, if this was posted on the front page it would have been a different story. Forum posts take far less precedent in search results.

He was found dead today, they say either it was an accidental over dose or suicide.
Didn’t see this coming.

I feel absolutely horrible for thinking this, but I’m glad they finished filming his parts of The Dark Knight before this. I thought he was quite a good actor. It’s sad to see him go.

Son, if you were charged with saving an entire species, the ventral arching of the Lordosis Reflex would bring a tear to your eye.

Yeah, besides being a good actor he seemed like a decent guy from all I’ve seen/heard.
How come the ones you want to die, like Lindsey Lohan, just won’t? It’s always like this. :)

What Chiz and Kangas said. It’s a real shame. I’m not going to pretend I was ever a fan of his before The Dark Knight, but it’s tragic all the same. Rest in Peace, Heath.

This was a shock and it’s pretty sad news. His performance in Brokeback was absolutely brilliant. I thought he totally stole that film. It’s too bad that he’s gone so soon.

I’m not one of those girls that does weird stuff in bed because they think they have to. If you’re a gay guy looking for a beard, I don’t do that anymore.

I think were one o the few websites that hasn’t snapped in half from the traffic of this news. At least thats what I in Newsarama and Livejournal.
We’re not exactly a news site and besided, what are they doing besides copying what they find on Yahoo and CNN.

i liked Heath. He was great in Knight’s Tale and looks like he is going to floor me in Dark Knight. He’ll be missed.

I was genuinely saddened by his death. I still maintain that he should’ve won the best actor oscar for his portryal of Ennis in Brokeback Mountain.. what a smurfin shame…

It is indeed a tragedy, specifically for his daughter who will never have the opportunity to know her father.
