Padalecki In Talks for “Friday the 13th” Remake

Jared Padalecki could star in the remake of slasher film “Friday the 13th” should negotiations go well, the Hollywood Reporter informs.

Jared Padalecki, who has previously starred in “House of Wax” and “Cry Wolf,” is in final talks to star in the remake of “Friday the 13th” that Platinum Dunes is producing for New Line and Paramount, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The film will be directed by Marcus Nispel (“The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”) from a script by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form are producing.

The original “Friday the 13th” was released in 1980 via Paramount and became one of the most successful slasher movies in history. Directed by Sean S. Cunningham from a script by Victor Miller, it was the film to introduce gory madman Jason Voorhees.

The remake will reportedly focus on the serial killer, who will be featured wearing his iconic hockey mask. Padalecki will play the lead, who investigates what happened up at Crystal Lake.

Cale Boyter and Guy Stodel are overseeing for New Line. A release is strategically planned for Friday, Feb. 13, 2009.

Padalecki currently stars as Sam Winchester on the CW’s “Supernatural.” His first brush with fame was playing Dean Forester on the successful series “Gilmore Girls” from 2000 to 2005.

He has also appeared in the 2003 comedy starring Steve Martin “Cheaper by the Dozen,” in the 2004 Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen-led comedy “New York Minute” and the thriller “Flight of the Phoenix,” in 2004.

He next appears as Thomas Kinkade alongside Peter O’Toole and Marcia Gay Harden in Lionsgate’s “Home for the Holidays.” The film, based on the life of the artist and his painting “The Christmas Cottage,” is slated for a December release.

I have to admit that Supernatural is pretty good horror tv series.  I didn’t want to like it but I enjoyed the first two seasons.  I’m waiting on the third season to end and then I’ll watch it.

What should really scare people is the director.  He’s a hack.

Buying the ice cream afterwards proves you truly are a humanitarian.

Why not just go the source and insert the razorblade dildo in Michael Bay’s eye?

I’m not one of those girls that does weird stuff in bed because they think they have to. If you’re a gay guy looking for a beard, I don’t do that anymore.

I could write many interesting uses for your razorblade paraphelia involving Michael Bay. His just-add-water films should be considered the ultimate dildo in anyone’s eye.
