We just recorded our 75th episode with new equipment, two extra people and hash browns. That changes everything.

This week we covered HIMYM and whether Ted would make lampshades out of ladies if left to his own devices; we discussed Torchwood because we can’t help ourselves; we speculated on how Reaper might redeem itself and then I announced I was willing to give Gossip Girl another chance; finally we spent some quality time with LOST.

You find find 75 and many other episodes over at http://www.bigredpodcast.com.

Is Gossip Girl worth a second look? Are we too hard on Torchwood?

I find hashbrowns change a show deeply. I think in your case. Everything was good as always.

I think Torchwood falls under the It’s So Bad It’s Good category. Has Spike joined the crew so the male lead can get some fanny time?

Now I’m wondering if I should listen to the episode before aksing these questions.

When is Dexter season 2 coming out on DVD?

I can’t wait for Torchwood to end the season so I can quit watching it.  This show is so wildly written from episode to episode, each new episode feels like a new show.  God it sucks but I can’t quit watching.  The potential is so high for it to be really good that I keep hoping that it will get there.

After having read the first two chapters of Gossip Girl, I believe that I can safely say, “Yes, it’s worth another look.” Although I’m a detached, ironic hipster-kid. *wink*

Jen reminds me a lot of a young and impudent DZ. You should tell her that Mics work much better when you talk into them.
Great episode this week and thanks for helping me make a decision on Torchwood! I have been considering starting to watch it but wont be due to your scathing condemnation.

Yeah - we had some small technical issues. It was our first week with the new rig and Jen and Chris have never podcasted before. She actually didn’t plan on talking but - as you heard - she’s got lots of opinions. Next time we’ll mic her better.

I suspect that Season 2 will come out sometime in late August or early September since the Dexter premieres are usually at the end of September.

James Marsters did show up in the first episode of S2 of Torchwood - it was so fun and good that we got all optimistic that the show was going to do a massive course correction over S1. We were wrong.

No no she was Mic’ed fine. when she talked into the diaphragm it sounded good but she was outside a lot.  People I find have the weirdest aversion to talking right into the center of a Microphone… I wonder why that is?

Not all of us are used to having big things right in front of our mouth. Geez F13. You also seem to forget I am a chronically soft-spoken person.

Impudent? Really?

Perhaps you were reminded of DZ because of Jen’s glorious Scandinavian heritage.

Anyway, we’ll note it for next time. It usually takes a few tries before you are used to talking into a microphone and it helps if you listen to the podcast. The other day Derek told me that he hasn’t listened to the podcast in “a really long time.”

Apparently I’m the first and last line of QA.

Last night I had a dream where The Hills and Gossip Girl intersected. I have never watched either show - but skinny girls with blonde hair were trying to kill me and all I wanted was for some dreamy guy to like me.

For my nearly middle-aged self, that is the stuff of nightmares.

Right now Mad Men is leading the “BRP could not be more wrong about this” vote.  I expect we’ll be watching that again this summer.

Derek does love Grey’s but he has a history of loving things that are wrong.

If loving Grey’s is wrong, I don’t want to be right.  I do admit to having an unnatural appreciation for certain things that are terrible, though.

And if the fans say Mad Men, then I may have to actually watch it.  But with only 4 votes so far, I refuse to recognize a quorum.  I’m holding out for a reconsideration of Heroes.
