Lost in Space by Greg Klerkx is an insightful work on how America’s manned space flight program has fallen from the heady days of the Apollo program to where it is today—operating an obsolete space shuttle like a moving van and taxicab to an incredibly expensive space station that seems to serve no obvious purpose.  Klerkx, a former scientist with the SETI Institute, puts his years of experience working with NASA behind this well written book.  More a critique than an expose, Klerkx stays away from bashing NASA, while demonstrating how NASA has become more interested in defending itself and its Big Aerospace contractors than in working with the entrepreneurial sector or sending a mission to Mars.

If you’ve ever been interested in how the Space Age seemed to drift away, check out Lost in Space.

This should be about the TV series and how great it was.  “Danger Will Robinson, Danger! Danger!”
