You’re right Dz, they could have written it for a graphic novel format, studios be damned.
Thing is Marvel did put out a Hellraiser graphic novel series ages ago, so I wonder..
I remember back in 87, getting 2 passes to go see the original Hellraiser. Me being 18, and a dumbass, I took some girly with me, and needless to say, it wasn’t pretty. She split half way through, and I let the bitch walk. My peepers were cemented to the screen, and not even teen lust was getting in the way of Pinhead and the cenobites.
So Felipe, what do you think of an American remake of A L’nterieur, starring the latest pregger celebrity bimbo? I’d love to see Nicole Ritchie do the remake, only to watch her wind up with a Womb with a view…..
Makes you wonder if alot of directors feel the same way, after watching their classic films get
rip out and gutted via Hollywood remakes….
Hm.. on the one hand my levelheaded, giddy, smitten self says:
“There is NO way they could make a film even resembling the original in America. The savage abuse of a pregnant woman for an hour and a half just would not fly here.”
And the angry, compressed ball of hate self says:
“SMURF THAT AND SMURF ANYONE WHO THINKS DIFFERENTLY RIGHT UP THEIR SMURFING SMURF HOLE.”
Tommy, do not rent the US Inside. It’s a psychological disaster involving stupid people licking american butt via handcuffing pregnant goats to cotton bushes.
All I could think about reading that was all of the goats I have impregnated int he cotton fields, and how my child support payment will be in the form of old cans and leather boots
Just a heads up to all of you Toronto folk/G.T.A’ers: Inside is playing at the Bloor Cinema(at Bloor and Bathurst) on Wed.April 16 at 9:30pm. This may be the only time you’ll get a chance to see a 35mm print of this one the big screen!! I’m gonna be there with my fellow goons..
another one I’ve GOT to see. It really does seem like the the French are taking over Horror. Haute Tension, Frontiere(s)(which I’ve heard REALLY good things about) and now this! Vive le France!
I saw Frontière(s) this week and it was pretty awesome. The version I saw had really terrible subtitles but it didn’t matter. The story is nothing new for a horror flick but it’s well written, the pacing of the film is good, and the action is intense. It’s definitely worth checking out.
I would love to be able to check out Inside on the big screen but I won’t be able to make it to T.O. next week.
Big Willy, have you ever heard of Vagrancy Films out of London, Ontario? You might want to check out their myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/vagrancyfilms. They do occasional screenings in Toronto so you should check it out.
On April 19, they will be presenting a 35mm print of Lucio Fulci’s Zombi for only $10 here in London.
Frontier(s) should be out in theatres in a few weeks. I highly recommend watching it then. It’s so good. Maybe it’s all the wine they drink or maybe they’re tired of being picked on as cheese eating surrender monkeys but the French are turning out some of the best most brutal horror films.

thanks for the heads up T Van; I’ve heard of them and I’m pretty sure I went to one of their Toronto screenings last year some time. I’m glad they’re fighting the good fight in London. How are the turn outs there? I’d imagine with Western being in town they would get a pretty good turn out. I’ll have to make the trek there sometime this summer if something really entices me.. btw, Machine girl is gonna get it’s North American debut here on Sat.May 3 at the Revue(details are on Twitch). Unfortunately, I work 14 hr shifts Thurs-Sun, so I’m a wash for it.. Also keep an eye out for the screening for PopSkull around the same time..

I’d definitely have to agree. Look at Them, Inside, Frontiers, and High Tension.. If all of them live up to the billing(which I know High Tension does as I’ve seen it) I’d challenge anyone to come up with a better 4 pack from any country in the world from the same time frame..
Ok so being one w/ a uterus I just can’t watch a preg. chick get cut to shreds BUT< I can tell you that the reviews at Horror Hound wknd were great. Freddy and Mike will be reviewing it on Part II of HHW coverage. But since you guys already did, I guess it’s over kill. Maybe after I get done squeezing out Chiz’s devil spawn I’ll be able to watch it. I don’t know though dude…..
Erica, it’s a rough film. Maybe you should watch it with the girls, Amy and Andy, and see who leaves the room first. Make some s’mores too. My bet is Andy leaves first.

The turnouts are pretty good but I don’t think it’s really Western students. Just other dirtballs kicking around the city. Western’s a little too uptight for sleaze and exploitation [I know as an alumnus]. Keep your eyes peeled for upcoming stuff because they’ve shown some decent stuff in the past. I saw that Machine Girl was getting a Toronto showing. Twitch is an awesome resource. I’ll keep my eyes peeled for PopSkull.
