Erica, what kind of dog are you going to get? I was thinking of getting a smallish caged pet like a rat or mouse. If it’s a girl I will call her Trixie if a boy Brutus.

We’re going to a butt load of shelters tomorrow.  I LOVE Rats! You tell THAT red head that there’s nothing wrong w/ rodents. My happiest memories of child hood involved a pretty little Guinea Pig I named Sylvester. You get a pass on the rodent thing from this red head! Boy rodents tend to become aggressive though.

We had 3 ferrets when I was a kid living in FL, but they’re illegal in the backwards state I live in now so a rat or mouse is a close second to that sort of critter.

Get Rocky! I had a lab mix when I was a kid along with the ferrets and he was the coolest dog ever! EVER! His name was Max and he knew the family by name. His tail also propellered when he was excited and our girl ferret, Katie used to pick on him when they were small. Katie could be kind of mean, she stole my favorite crystal dice for D&D;. I never did find them.

I would have a Hedgehog if not for the laws in California.
