Hello everyone. My name,if you haven’t already taken a shot in the dark,is Scott. Im 21,I live in Philadelphia working a shitty security job. My father got me into horror movies (Trilogy of Terror was my first one and that doll scared the hell out of me) at an incredibly young age. Anyone remember the old VHS of Michael Jackson’s Thriller? It had that Making Of Documentary after it and thats how I learned it was all “make believe.” I think my first true exploitation film had to be I Spit On Your Grave. In the 8th grade I had read about it on the internet and picked up a copy at Tower Records. After watching that I wondered. Did they have to rape her twice?

The Slasher genre is my heart but I’ll watch any horror movie (I own a copy of Carnage The Legend Of Quiltface. IMDB it and check those reviews) at least once. The cheesier the better. I just discovered podcasts (I knew about them…Just never downloaded Itunes or really thought to check if there was a horror podcast) last week and came across Cinema Diabolica. Friggin’ awesome.

Greetings, citizens.
I just finished listening to the first 18 episodes but in reverse order because I do what my iPod tells me to do. It was kind of fun, hearing the sound quality and hosting skillz deteriorate and many references to previous shows I had not yet heard, kind of like Irreversible, or Memento (AKA by it’s European release title, Mementos: The Make-Fresher).
Still, I’m hooked, and now need to see every film you guys talk about.

This post wins my vote. I just felt like randomly voting. I find it a little hard to listen to the older shows now that F13 figured out the dingles and phwoomps to make the sound better.

No, I will take content over sound quality as long as it doesn’t make me flinch. But there is a significant sound quality change as the episodes progressed. As far as I know, the adjustments F13 made were part of the software package we use. In other words there could be hidden options in the software package others use to clean up their podcasts. Fiddle away with your toys people!

As much as I would love to tell you how to fiddle Erica, I was really talking about the state of laziness in America. Don’t succumb!

Ello!
I just started listening to the show.  So far I’m up to episode 8.  You guys are the shizzle!  Now I must see Student Bodies.  Curses on me not seeing it before! Thanks for increasing my netflix queue with all the giallo I’ve been missing out on.

Anyways, I love horror (mainly slashers, ghost stories, and giallo), photography, video games, music, and all things Elvira and Hello Kitty.  (that’s right, I said Elvira and Hello Kitty).

I wanted to introduce myself. I just discovered your show and love it! I think I heard all but 2 or 3 episodes (do not fear-I will listen to the rest on the way to work this week).

My favorites. Your Crappy New Year episode. Your reivews of Your Vice is a Locked Room and Only I Have the Key & Master of Flying Guilitine and Diary of the Dead.  Your passion for against Diary of the Dead was very inspired!

OK. About me.

I was born and lived most my life in Bangkok (Thailand). So if my English not perfect-please forgive.  Yes. I have accent. No. You not really want to hear it. If you think English accent pretty. Mine is like sticking sharp stick in your ear and then pouring acid into the hole. I tried Karoke 1 time. The bar is now closed and the owner in jail after complaints from neighborhood. I now living in Los Angeles (but still consider Thailand my home).

I LOVE Horror films. I grew up with them. Most of what I know is Asian. And most of the titles I know are in Thai or Asian. So I not sure how many others here know.

Favorites: Battle Royal. Audtion. Nang Nak. The Eye (and hey! I heard comments about the Remake. The brothers who make original The Eye are THAI! Let my country get some credit-OK?), The Exorcist. Dawn of the Dead. Possession. ChungKing Express (Yes. I know not even close to horror film). The Great Silence (Italy Western). Anything directed by David Lynch (sorry) or David Lynch.  I enjoy all the Italian films you have spoke about. My sister lives in Italy and I have a good friend who is lives in Italy and he has exposed me to many of the movies you spoke and reviewed.

No. I am not a gothic model on My Space. But I would like to be. So any advice you can give would be very much appreciated.  :-)

Keep up the good work and I will keep voting for you on Podcast Alley! (this is where I find your show)

KHWAN

P.S. I have some music I would love to share with you. I think you might like. It Thai-Gothic-Buddhist. But it good. And no I not in the band. I not know the band. I not make any money if you like or not like. And no-it not sound like awful Japanese visual/gothic/punk/heavymetal music. What email I can send MP3to? Oh yes. And it from CD almost 10 years old and rare and IMPOSSIBLE to find if you not in Thailand (and even if you are in Thailand ALMOST impossible to find)

Greetings, I’m new to the forums obviously…I’ve recently discovered Cinema Diabolica and have been feverishly downloading old episodes. I’m 31 years young, currently living in Astoria, Queens among the largest Greek population outside of Greece. Currently I’m into: Xbox 360’s Dead Rising, making hummus, dragging my feet (figuratively) and buying used dvd’s on amazon.com. So…that’s it for now.

Hi boyz

I’m new to all this pod casting crap.  I mistakenly came across your show. I would never waste my time listening to such rubbish.  I have been miserably obsessed .  You guys are fk@$ ing squares.  At the same time, I have found myself listening to you for the past month now.  I am curious and have a lot of respect for you.  You do know your filmz and have a great passion. Although,  I have no respect for your squareness.  You need not watch films over and over again.  Please for fk$@ sake, get laid already.  PLEASE!!!!  Instead of making fun of Gene Simmons, who I know gets laid quite often and Cory Feldman for that matter, do yourselves a favor and find some pussy.  That, my friends is your homework assignment for this weekend.  Cause after all, it is about the pussy, isnt it?

It actually isn’t and do I detect something familiar about that attitude? You probably live near Central Park.. (I grew up on 18th ave and can smell uptown snobs a mile away.)

At any rate WELCOME to the community everyone!

<Moved from Main Forums - General Thread>

I did post here before, but with a different screen name. I updated my screen name so I will now be knownest to you all! ( Ya, not a real word…)

I am very used to NOT getting ‘Demise’ any more so I stopped using it. (So thank you) I may have to renew my effort. Too bad you can’t license screen names!

I KNOW it was not the ‘DUCK STORY!’ But ,I was on a time crunch and my attention span is just not that long…  try to figure that one out?!?!? Can you tell how quickly I listened to your show today? More on that later….

You two make a great show, keep it up.

Demise

Looks like I spent time writing an entry for yesterday then forgot to send it…damn it!  I’m a dumb git, and usually out and about in Reading, UK, but am from near Pompey, UK originally.  I’m in a relationship that’s been going on for many years, and I’m either loving it or having a really good bitch about it.  I like my job but I have no idea how a film graduate leftie ended up doing contract management.  I veg in front of my PS2 if I get insomnia. I like film history and drinking and I am a Pompey FC fan. BBC Radio 7 keeps me sane. I’m a compulsive perfume buyer but still stink of BO. I love my piercings and want more. I think I love you, but I’m afraid that I’m not sure of a love there is no cure for. I don’t half go on sometimes.

I like European cinema, especially giallos and krimi. I adore horror films - anything from creaky old Bela Lugosi and Barbara Steele gothics, to camp slashers and zombie epics. Anything with David Warbeck will usually do - The Beyond is my favourite movie. Any fellow BFI members that I can meet up with occasionally for a movie would be good to know here.

TV is so poor in the UK that I hardly ever watch it. I like TV Burp (those not in the UK should use YouTube and search for Harry Hill to see what it is - might not make sense without knowing the shows he slaughters though!). Charlie Brooker’s stuff is also good. The Apprentice (UK), Torchwood and Dr Who are entertaining fluff. Family Guy suits my humour. The Inspector Brunetti series (based on Andrea Camilleri books) is fantastic - if you speak Italian or get the subtitled DVDs from Australia. MST3K was the greatest TV show of all time.

I like most kinds of music - Seth Lakeman, Brett Anderson, Panic At The Disco, Hard-Fi, The Bravery, Renan Luce, Amy Winehouse, Dashboard Confessional, Bloc Party, The Departure, Bruises, Arcade Fire, The Mamas and Papas, and Dar Williams. Also, I like the more chilled Hed Kandi compilations for winter nights in.

The most recent new horror type film I saw was Otto: or Up WIth Dead People. It was a gay zombie gore/sex film and really good fun if a little overlong.  I loved how gore scenes made some of the viewers look sick and the sex scenes made some of the gorehounds wretch.

I’m loving the podcast guys…

Hi :) I’m brand-spankin’ new and listening from the UK. My favorite movies are: Lady Snowblood, The Exorcist, and Revenge of the Nerds…. yeah, I know. Favorite book: Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card. Favorite music depends on which of my mulitiple personalities is in the driver’s seat at any given moment.
And as far as podcasts go, Cinema Diabolica is rockin’ my world right now.
Love from Lady Grey xo
