One of the weirder shows we’ve done in a while. Beef takes the night off and Katie’s brother J.R. steps in to talk about conspiracy theories in films, Ron Paul and the true origins of the moon.
I’d venture to say that this is the drunkest I’ve been on the show in quite some time. Although I only had about half a bottle (maybe more) of wine, I’m out of practice and therefore, get sloppier easier.
These past few days have been an emotional rollercoaster for me. Having to cope with the immense embarrassment of forgetting one of the biggest names in Hollywood, seeing a great movie and then diving into the devastatingly black hole that is the Lawnmower Man.
My punishment for The Most Dangerous Game came in the mail yesterday and with a special bonus. It turns out that Lawnmower Man 1 and 2 are on the same disc. I just finished them both. If I were logging a journal it might read something like:
“Day One:
I’ve lost my mind to the madness that is Jobe. I tried to tear my eyes out, but was unable to when Jobe hacked into my main frame. Now I fear the worst…”
I may never live my temporary super retardedness down…I certainly will never forget the consequences.
is showshow available as an Mp3? My Zen won’t play m4a files and Id like to check your show out.
Crap...I didn’t realize that podomatic wasn’t converting the files. Let me see what I can do. I might be able to post these on another site as mp3s. Just give me a minute…
I listened to the first half. Damn you guys like to talk.
Miles, your songs towards the end made me laugh. It’s like a four year old who just discovered word boundaries and starts stringing them together to be offensive.

Thanks, Marc. See, I thought those parts of the show were going to be completely unlistenable, but I’m glad you liked it.

So I’m listening to This American Life this week and Dan Savage (of Savage Love), much to my surprise, reiterates my point about gay men in the media. He wasn’t drunk at the time, so his message is much clearer than mine, but we more or less say the same thing. You can find the podcast in iTunes if you’d like to hear it.
This Charming Man by The Smiths. It’s an early version of the song from Hatful of Hollow.
Also, the song at the end of the second part is Thou Shalt Always Kill by Dan le Sac VS. Scroobius Pip.
