I don’t think anyone has posted this so I was curious what kind of music the Leigon is into currently. Post some of your old faves, new faves, one hit wonders, whatever.....the point is maybe someone will turn you on to something you would normally not check out....as a former musician myself I am always looking for new stuff, the Cinema Diabolica and Outside The Cinema guys do a great job with music on their respective shows. Miley Cyrus withstanding.....although once that song gets in your head its hard to get out. Here are a couple of my favs:

1. Clutch
2. The Drive By Truckers
3. Opeth
4. The Ramones
5. Queen
6. Fireball Ministry
7. My Chemical Romance
8. Hatebreed
9. Slayer
10. System Of A Down

I cant think of anymore right now since I have about 600 different artists on my iPod.....mostly rock or metal but I am digging that song from the beginning of Juno. I think its a children’s song but its cool in a folksy way. These are not in order of any kind I’m just punching in the first ones that come to mind.

Post away guys, I’m always open to new tunes......

Ugh, System of a Down? Seriously?

My favorite bands are Oingo Boingo, Muse, Queen, Korn, My Chemical Romance, Dragonforce, Meat Loaf, Dethklok, Metallica, Lordi, The Faint, Rob Zombie, Mika, Mindless Self Indulgence, and Rammstein, in no particular order.

Yep, I love SOAD’s use of progressive rock in a pop song structure......Dragonforce are pretty awesome, I’m a guitar palyer myself and I cannot keep up with Dragonforce, not a fan of Rammstein but, to each their own, those arent my favs so much as just the ones I listen to the most currently.....I’ve never really checked out Muse, I’ll have to check them out. Thats awesome you mentioned Dethklok....I love that Mermaid Murder song and that theme song to the animated series.

this is too hard for me,but ill give it a shot as far as recent favorites are concerned

in no order..

-bouncing souls
-nothington
-knuckledust
-r.a. the rugged man
-various wu tang/sean price mixtapes
-wisdom in chains
-disfear
-chuck ragans solo acoustic stuff
-the audrye sessions
-om/sleep/basically all the stoner metal and stuff i have already done slept on too long. but only when im trying to get to sleep.

i do listen to a lot of old soul/r&b;(sam cooke, william bell, etta james, otis redding,,etc) and a lot of guilty pleasure pop punk (old saves the day, alkaline trio, brand new,etc)...but yeah i could do this shit all day and i think i will cut this short now. word.

the stuff I listen to is all over the place but here is a good sampling.
1. The Carrier- the best hardcore band you havent heard yet. very melodic.
http://www.myspace.com/thecarrierhc
2.November 5th 1955- progstyle hardcore (ryan roommate sings and plays guitar in this band) shit will blow you mind
http://www.myspace.com/novemberfifth1955
3.Ben Harper- there are few things in life that make me feel better than Ben Harper and a acoustic guitar
4.Tegan & Sara- great pop indie rock kinda stuff from Canada
5.Another Breath- hardcore from Rochester NY so intense (F13 will back me up on this one)
6. Have Heart- Boston Straight Edge reminds me of Strife
7. Ameican Nightmare(AKA Give up the Ghost) my favorite hardcore band of all time.
8.Exploisions in the Sky- instumental indie rock that sets a mood like nothing I have ever heard.
9.Foo Fighters- Dave Grohl is the man enough said
10. Hot Water Music- I love this band so much I had them tattooed on my leg.
Man the only thing I love more than movies is music I could go on for hours.
the one thing to add to this is that U2 is my favorite of all time so i didnt list them.

Donkey Plugging Holes.

They’re too weird for words. In fact I can’t even write about them because of the existential radiation they spew.

Oh great!  Now I get to look gayer than ever.  Fine tracks this week by the OTC.  Back to something poppier next week (like s-club juniors? Actually, Walking With A Ghost would be good in the right sort of week).

Again, no particular order (except the first is probably what I would rank first).
Lykke Li (sooo good and sooo weird)
Laura Marling
Adele
The Foals
Black Francis
Feist
Beirut
Evil Dead The Musical Soundtrack
Dashboard Confessional
Does It Offend You, Yeah?

Did Black Francis have more than one solo CD? and was he ever even called that outside of the Pixies?
The Pixies were way better than his solo work.

Black Francis actually has 5 solo records (one that came out in april) they are put out under the name Frank Black though. I recommend “teenager of the year”
Have Heart is one of those bands that I remember booking for free like 5 years ago, so I have a soft spot for them, but the the album “ the things we carry” is really good much heavier than the demo and ep.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGM7luspUjk
the link above is the show that sold me on how big have heart had become be it a hometown show but there are close to 1500 people at this show(last guns up show) kids absolutely lost there minds when they played
We mix up the tunes cause I listen to everything and much to Ryan’s dismay I like cheesy shitte to. Also I stand by my statement that the Cardigans are very underated. Check out thier record Super Extra Gravity.
Walking with a ghost will make a appearance at some point.
And the B9 board is the devil.
/end transmission

I really bring nothing ground breaking to the table… I used to be on top of all of the cutting edge stuff in a number of genres, but I found over time that my tastes narrowed more and more to the point where I find “Hip-Hop” and a lot of other stuff to be in a hopeless, vapid f*cking downward spiral, from which it can’t recover.. I guess the Buggles were prophets after all.. In any event, being a lover of lists that proclaim my admiration for anything I admire here is my completely non-groundbreaking list(keep in mind that I’m 28 yrs. old not 48 yrs. old as my list may indicate)

1. Johnny Cash-A real American classic. He was a master story teller who’s plain, sparing language could be achingly beautiful while painting a vivid picture. A man of real integrity
2.Stevie Wonder-THE voice. His run through the 70’s reached creative heights that I don’t think a handful of artists could even touch. Most artists would be overjoyed with 1 iconic, classic album in their career, Stevie rolled them out like little doughnuts on an assembly line at a carnival
3.Elvis Presley-The King. Nuff said
4.Bob Seger-his bluesy, salt of the earth, everyman songs resonated with me a great deal. Lamenting about love and life gone by
5.Sam Cooke-He was a master with the voice of an angel who truly was struck down before his time. Anyone in love should listen to Mr.Cooke
6.Otis Redding-When I think of Soul music, I think of Otis(another one tragically taken from us far too soon). You could hear the aching, the longing, the passion in his voice..
7.C.C.R-Southern rock at it’s finest(in my humble opinion)
8.James Brown-The Godfather of soul was a showman, who despite the antics, remains a distinctly original American Icon who is best heard whilst partaking in a few tall boys and a few spliffs with good friends and good conversation
9. Beastie Boys-Their sampling and sense of humor won me over from a young age, and I loved how they never tried to be something they weren’t.. A great f*cking catalog
*tie*10.(early, bluesy, little red rooster type stuff from) The Rolling Stones/(early)Willie Nelson-There’s nothing I can say about the Stones that hasn’t been said, so I’ll say no more than I think they are the greatest rock band of all time, not the Beatles. As for Willie, most people don’t know how good and prolific a song writer he was. He inspired numerous singers in a multitude of genres with his voice and song writing..

Hey Willy, I like all your choices but I have to confess that I am a Beatles guy.....the Stones are just okay in my book. Everything else you listed is outstanding stuff, no doubt about it. I am a huge Elvis fan, I live in Kentucky so there is hardly anybody bigger in this state than CCR, possibly Lynard Skin-yard.....awesome list however. I’ve been playing Rock Band on PS3 alot lately so I have been into some Deep Purple from back in the day...."Highway Star” in fact. I do love me some Johnny Cash I just downloaded his album, The Man Comes Around, great freakin stuff!!
