I’m watching the remake of De Palma’s Sisters at the moment.  I had some hope for this one as the director, Douglas Buck, made some superb short films which are collected on a DVD called Family Portraits: A Trilogy of America. There are good, creepy, bloody stuff.

But his first feature, Sisters, man it’s not good.  Dull, slow and very badly acted.  Stephen Rea seems to be playing a block of wood with no personality and Chloe Sevigny looks lost (and more like a man than usual).

Avoid this one chaps and chapesses.

Thankfully this was a “play” option on Netflix, so I got to stop it after 20 minutes.  Terrible remake.  Why remake Sisters??  I don’t even think the story is that great.  The only moment that was truly awesome in the original was the murder scene.  Maybe I should check out this DVD of short films though.
