Jon Lansdale is a comic book artist who loses his right hand in a car accident. The hand was not found at the scene of the accident, but it soon returns by itself to follow Jon around, and murder those who anger him. Written by Rob Hartill (Good’ol IMDB ;) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082497/)

I loved this flick. Always been a fan of Michael Caine, even in Deathtrap! (But Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is probably the best!)

Speaking of Stan Winston stuff…

I think Lake Placid is pretty good too. The writing was just too well done. The characters made this film worth rewatching, a few times, despite the “big lizard monster film” genre.

btw….The Hand is directed by Oliver Stone….the same one who gave us Platoon.

I like this film, its kinda quirky but Caine rules in it.

Noticed that too. Didn’t remember that. I can take or leave a lot of Stones movies these days.

I saw most of this when I was a kid, but the only thing that comes to mind is the scene where Caine loses his hand. I recall what seemed a fountain of blood spraying from his wrist after the truck knocks his hand off.

That’s Right! I am always trying to remember what movie makes me hesitate for a second every time I, or a loved one, sticks a limb out of a movies vehicle!!!

Sounds like some 50’s B-movie the Crawling Hand I saw when I was ten. Instead of a cartoon artist I think he was an astronaut.

ha! saw this on monstervision with joe bob briggs…..michael caine is great at being one of those prestigious actors who ends up in “stinkers” so to speak…..like on deadly ground (aka best movie ever).
