Thanks for the “answer all of Chris’s questions” Outside the Cinema Diabolica Show. I sent in a bunch of questions, so you could pick the ones that worked for the show, but thank you for covering all of them.

good call on the “who is the bigger creep” questions.

Sorry about the spoiler thing, I was confident you (as a TRUE Professional...) listened to the voicemail at least a little bit before airing them!  I will have to remember in the future to be more graphic and crude!  ;)

DZ, YES! My husband says, I can no longer pick out the movies for Netflix! LOL! For as sensitive as, I am he is blown away by the movies that draw me in. He is even more sensitive about kids (babies, pregos, etc) thena I.

He also thinks there should be at least some naked hotties to make a horror flick worth watching!

As for the throat thing… did not get that at all, that she couldn’t breathe! Now I have to watch it again! Much to my spouse’s horror!
I did love the part where the cop was kneeled in the door and got shot! I really like it in moves where the “Savior” gets it unexpectedly. That always makes for much greater tension in a film.

I get the cop being blind, but he got the lights working… he couldn’t have been THAT blind.. Sigh I guess it MUST need a second watching……

:P

I think of this episode more as a homage to Chris, our loyal fan.

Something to throw in there regarding the contributing violence in cinema question. Attila the Hun didn’t have TV or movies to watch. Neither did ancient Rome, the Saxons, the Egyptians, the Crusaders, nor the Conquistadors. We have to accept our capacity for violence. It springs from within.

When you look at it statistically you end up with a new appreciation too. How many millions of people watch violent films? How many have watched more than one violent film? How many of those people have commited a violent crime? If you can have 4 guys sit and talk about their love for violent cinema and none of them have served time, what does that tell you about the effects of violence in art?

I felt the cop’s reaction to being blind was a bit over the top too. Don’t worry Demise you aren’t alone.

Then again Inside is a pretty over the top movie.

On a side note--The Woman (Beatrice Dalle) originally had dialog where she constantly put the pregnant woman, Sarah (Alysson Paradis) down. Dalle thought that was too much and instead said next to nothing in the film. She basically thought of her role as more frightening if you weren’t given anything to deduce her motives. I thought it was a very insightful and powerful choice for her to play the role this way. It also shows her strength in body acting too.
