Since you fine, young citizens are fans of the movie - I thought you could share with me why you find it appealing.

I watched it without the aid of any adult beverages and found the first 30 minutes or so to be somewhat entertaining in a so bad it is good type of way. The the movie really lost a lot of energy and sputtered out.

Now I love terrible movies - God knows I’ve logged plenty of hours with them. And I’m the proud owner of most everything Joe Bob Briggs has ever written. I embrace the high and the low.

So do tell me why you love it and I’ll be sure to make your case in BRP 87.

I was thinking about recording something for the show or calling the voicemail line (finally) in response to the message you sent this morning.  You seemed pretty incredulous, so it got me excited.  Anyway, expect something from me in the next couple of days (definitely before Sunday).

I honestly can’t wait to hear the details.

I actually re-watched Troll 2 with my my brother the week before last. The key is to watch it with other people, I think.

I honestly don’t know why you feel the way you do, but I plan to get to the bottom of it.

And speaking of things that we’ve suggested to one another, Erin and I are going to finish out the Thin Man series as soon as she gets back from Dublin.  We’ve got the second half of The Thin Man Goes Home to wrap up, along with Song of the Thin Man.  I can’t say I’m as excited about these two as I was when we first started watching the films, but Nick and Nora are still a lot of fun to watch, even when they’ve been watered down by poverty and sobriety.

I’ll explain myself, not to worry.

I agree the rest of the Thin Man series isn’t as great, but I still liked them well enough to buy the whole box set. Powell and Loy are so charming and still have so much chemistry that they are able to help overcome weaker and bleaker stories. I did rather enjoy the movie where Nick and Nora go to Nick’s childhood home and everyone thinks he’s sauced despite his commitment to not drinking and merely sipping cider.

Yeah, we’re on that one right now, actually.  Did you notice that the character in the short film that plays before Wall*E seems to have been modeled after Powell?  That’s why I love Pixar.
