What toys do you miss from your childhood? Or just miss?
In my childhood, it pretty rapidly went from Fisher-Price little people to Star Wars figures. So, I’d have to go with the main 2 for moe.
1) I, of course, miss the Muppet toys. They only got a few series in and then Palisades was gone, and with it, the chance to find a Sal Minella figure to compliment my Johnny Fiamma. Also, the Sesame Street figures haven’t been released, and I was really looking forward to those. Maybe someday.
2) The other toys I miss? M.A.S.K.! Vehicles that change, helmets with powers, it was all good!

I miss the ORIGINAL Strawberry Shortcake dolls that came in the big strawberry shaped carrying case. *sighs* the new versions are soooooo not right.

She-ra action figures. Dear lord they rocked.

Rocker barbie- the whole damn line was so wonderfully cheezy and 80’s

lawn darts- the ones you could kill an elk with

and jelly bracelets… I used to tie them into a rope and bind my little sister to the swingset with them.

Good times.

I was a big GI Joe kid, back when GI Joe’s were the smaller dudes.  Also had tons of the Star Wars figure.  My Death Star totally rocked.

Remember back when chemistry sets actually had some stuff that could kill you?  Ah, the good old days.....

Good times.

She-Ra ended up getting the same treatment as her brother, but it was a limited release. I think Hordak and Grizzlor came out around the time of Fisto and some other things. It is the continuing problem of male vs. female toys and how willing a company is to market and produce. to a female audience. I can’t say, even as a little boy, I didn’t want Hordak. To this day toy companies are being only so brave with their products but they’re not really willing to push.

Toy companies still aren’t making any effort.

Fisto . . . these are childhood toys, right?

Fisto . . . these are childhood toys, right?

Fisto turned out to be the older brother of Duncan (Man-At-Arms) and probably Teela’s real father. In one episode of the revised Masters series, Duncan meets Fisto in a bar and all hell breaks loose. He only went by “Battle Fist” later. Copywright reasons.

I’ll point you in the right direction: STAR WARS has a FISTO. And fought for it.

FOUGHT FOR IT

It’s revealed that Fisto is Teela’s father, and Duncan was charged by the Sorceress, Teela’s mother, to take care of her.

Fisto and Man-At-Arms are brothers, so Duncan is her uncle.

I really dug the Bravestarr toy line, there wasn’t a boat-load of characters, but I thought the figures/weapons were pretty ahead of it’s time!

Masters of the Universe, of course, was what I lived for as a kid

Thudercats were pretty cool

totally loved all things WWF...including the freakin’ huge LJN rubber figures that were all in awkward poses

Guess what’s not banned in Denmark?  Lawn Darts!  I almost picked some up.  I loved those things as a kid.
