I think this is my official request:

I have always loved short stories, and sadly they rarely translate as well as you might think they would to movies or TV,

However, some shorts can work! Many Twilight Light Zones come to mind.

We know there are many anthologies:  Trilogy of Terror, Creepshow , Cats Eye, etc.  I would like to here your thoughts on

specific stories.

For examples:

Quitters Inc. was awesome but not many others in that set. I hated the Troll one!

The best Tails From the Crypt was the one were a husband thought his wife was sneaking around and….. Well that would just ruin it!

One Elvira’s show had an anthology, where in one story, a man popped into a town that turned out to be overrun by Ghouls. I have no idea what that one was called!!

Any Who….

What are your favorites specific pieces? (Not the anthologies as a whole!)

What story did it’s “job” in minutes and would never need a second more?

Sweets to the Sweet in The House That Dripped Blood and Blind Alley in Tales from the Crypt are both superb.  It is good to know the ones that really linger in the mind.

I think the ghouls story might be the last segment of The Monster Club?  Some guy is looking for locations in the English countryside, and stumbles upon this strange village slightly out of place and time, where the monsters don’t appreciate his attempts to get out and take someone with him.  It has an ending slightly let down by amateur performances and poor make-up, but it’s an effective enough idea in itself.

Was it an old Twilight Zone where the little boy goes around shooting at people with his toy gun - which the audience knows isn’t a toy, and has a bullet in one chamber?  That was bloody effective!
