I’ve never been a fan of Silverchair and most of you probably have no idea who this band is.  For those of you that grew up in the era of grunge, they were a bunch of 15 year-olds that could rock out.  Their new CD is nothing like that .  I was quite surprised.  I’ll have a review up on Tuesday.

I read your review and agreed with most of it—all except the liking it part. I reviewed this back at CB Music and thought it was too schizoid and poppy for my liking.  I can’t believe Jons can sing with such high audacity now.  However, upon some re-listening sessions, I do enjoy “Straight Lines” and “All Across The World” immensley and I don’t even feel like a dork for it.  Maybe I can enjoy the next album once I can settle into this new persona? We shall see.

I didn’t like their earlier stuff so, once I got over the totally new style, I really enjoyed it.  It was almost like a concept album for me.  Not every song is a winner but I enjoyed quite a few of them.
