I’m reading a book called “Baby Proof” by Emily Giffin. It’s about a young 30-something couple that gets married, and almost lives happily ever after ... except that the husband decides that he wants a baby. She, on the other hand, does not.

And pretty much everyone makes her feel guilty about it.

It’s written in a very snarky yet relatable tone, and I found it hard to put down long enough to even type this message. But I managed.

Just started On a Pale Horse by Piers Anthony, found it for a buck at a used book store. So far so good.

Isn’t that part of a longer series?

Yes, I believe there are 7 or 8? It’s a strange world where magic and science coexist, and ideas have personas (ie: Death, Fate) and each book is when a new person takes over for said persona. I heard the last 2 books are the Devil and God. This one is Death and it has exceeded my expectations so far. I’m gushing aren’t I?

Damn good series, actually. and each book stands alone and works as part of the series.

I just finished Final Cut by Steven Bach, a book about the making of Heaven’s Gate, the Michael Cimino bomb that destroyed United Artists.  I’ll be punching up a review soon.

I’m currently reading a biography of Robert E. Lee based on his letters entitled Reading the Man, by Elizabeth Pryor.  An excellent biography so far.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time

I’ve read this a few times. It’s told from the point of view of a 15 year old autistic boy.
Fabulous.

I just started reading the third Dexter book and it’s really good.  I need to go back and read the second book or I could just wait until season two comes on.  It should be awesome.  I can’t believe where the author is taking the characters.

I’m reading Desperation by Stephen King.

Is it worth reading? I’ve heard mixed opinions about it…

I’m currently reading Stephen King’s IT. I’m a slow-ass reader, but I’m making progress at least.

I heard that the real ending is basically unfilmable… this both intrigues and concerns me.

I thought Desperation was the best of King’s later works.  The later Dark Tower books were good, too, but in classic King form, the ending sucked.
