I couldn’t recommend Dexter highly enough.  Kit & I recently purchased the first season, and could hardly stop watching it!  We went through 5-one hour episodes in a single evening!

I have loved Michael C. Hall since Six Feet Under.  He does such a remarkable job in Dexter, and you can separate him from his SFU character, David.  Love it!

I gotta recommend either Heroes although at this point, there’s only 1 season to watch and then catch up on season 2… however, Sopranos is truly worthy of all the praise it’s recieved and seeing as all the DVDs are out now, if you’re looking for more of a commitment I say watch Sopranos now and catch up with Heroes after this season when you can watch season 1 and season 2 on DVD before season 3 starts, if that logic makes any sense to you.

Everything this kid does should be delightfully anarchistic, odd, original, imaginatively eccentric, and full of longing. He is the unexpected personified.

If you haven’t started watching Doctor Who, please do so.  It’s silly, British, and loads of fun.

Ditto on Dr Who, especially the current series.

Also, Twin Peaks and This Life (as fiction - nothing as good as those in the last few years) and TV Burp and Charlie Brooker’s Screenwipe (as TV shows that slate other TV shows - loads of footage from these on youtube).  And the current UK series of the Apprentice is the most entertaining car crash outside of Kerry Katona dribbling every week and whichever harpies are left on Rock of Love.

Can the rest of the world access BBC iplayer?  Try looking at http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/ and you might be ok to watch the Apprentice and Dr Who and the rest of BBC stuff there.

I’m going to jump in here and say My Name is Earl.  I just got caught up on the first two seasons and I’ve loved every minute of it.
