Yes a new Knight Rider pilot is being shot with the hopes of having it picked up as a television series. David Hasselhoff will be returning, but supposedly as a cameo only.
Here are the supposed plot details of the new pilot:
The show, which will kick off with a two-hour telemovie, fixes on Michael Knight’s son Mike and his childhood girlfriend Sarah who are informed by K.I.T.T that her father – the guy who created K.I.T.T - is missing. They discover her father is alive, but the target of private military contractors who were sent to kill them all and destroy the talking car.

It’s a Shelby GT500KR, I’m not a car person at all, so I will let car people talk about that.
