This friday will be my first column for PopSyndicate.
I’m calling it Nerd Alert… for obvious reasons. What might not be too obvious is why. To put it simply, the internet, technology and the way we communicate is both an influence and an impact of popular culture. All those kids in high school who hung out in the AV club, wel that wasn’t me (I was in the computer lab), but they were ahead of the game. We nerds and dorks spoke in a different language like we do now. We talk about XSS and SSL so you can talk about MySpace.
One thing I notice during my nerd-outs, however, is that nobody understands what I’m saying half the time. Unless I use a Buffy analogy, people get lost.
Starting Friday, I’m going to write about it so you will all understand. Its about your culture after all.
