I saw Pirates 3 yesterday and don’t let part 2 scare you off.  It’s so much better than the second film.  True it’s almost 3 hours long and for the most part, it’s really entertaining.  I would give it a 3.75/5.  The only problem is that is should a little shorter.  It didn’t need to be as long as it was but overall, I would recommend seeing it.

Everyone screws over everyone in this film.  It’s lots of fun.

See, the runtime is the only thing keeping me from going to see one of the Thursday night showings. I’ve got a morning flight to Rochester on Friday, and I know I probably won’t pack shit til the last minute, which means I’ll need Thursday night for that. But glad to hear that it’s better than the second film, which I thought was pretty damn good anyway. Everything else can be bollocks, so long as it’s got Depp and good effects.

There is a great scene where Depp talks to himself. It’s funniest thing in the film.

I just read Ken’s review of Pirates 3...anything is better than 28 Weeks Later.  That is easily the worst film I’ve seen this year.  Total crap.

I still think #2 rocked. I don’t understand why people ccomplained about it “not ending” because it was said from the beginning that it would continue and be shot back to back. No one complained about LOTR when it continued.  People also complained it was too long when it was shorter than the boring Superman movie.

It’s also not over. They are talking about releasing a 4th film in 2010. I can’t wait!

So if I didn’t like the first two then I won’t like the third one?

Probably not.  I wouldn’t waste my time on the third one if you didn’t care for the first two.  You could see two other movies instead.

I don’t know how someone wouldn’t like the films—it’s about DEPP and BLOOM as freaking PIRATES!

Let’s face it, Depp IS the franchise. All other elements of the film are irrelevant when measured against his greatness. I’ve sat through The Astronaut’s Wife and The 9th Gate, but at least Johnny Depp was in them!

Wow, you’re more disciplined than me!

I do agree that Depp IS Pirates of the Caribbean.  No one else could make a Disney park ride into what it all has become…

I loved being able to see what Jack sees. Before I just assumed that Jack faked being crazy, now I know his character really is. The surrealism of this one is fantastic.

I saw it Monday afternoon.  I thought (like the other two) it was very entertaining.  I never listen to the critics about the ‘Pirates’ movies…I knew I would enjoy it, and I was right!  :-)

Don’t listen to critics?  What is this poppycock and balderdash…I knew you would like it.  Pirates 2 still sucked.
