Wow. That review of Pixar’s new film was laughable. Within the first paragraph she completely falls on her face mis-stating Brad Bird’s previous film The Incredibles ("The Invinicibles”?) Does Dana Place actually go out and see the films she’s reviewing? i mean.. actually leaves her place of residence, takes in the lingering day light- maybe talks to some folks on the street.. According to this review she did not see Ratatouille. She fails to pick up on ANYTHING in the film. Good news Dana! There are movies specially made for you! easy to swallow and void of taste- take your pick of any of the 8 shrek movies (oh, there’ll be more.. katzenberg’s creative genius guarantees that) So- sit back and don’t do a thing. Considering your skills and apparent agenda: inaction befits you perfectly!

I’m not scared off from this review.  I still really stoked about seeing this film.

First let me just say that Dana is a guy.  Secondly...there are only going to be two more Shrek movies.

oh man! apologies to dana place for mistaking his gender! sorry man. speaking of engendering mistaken identities; dana’s poorly written (spelling and composition) review is quite mis-leading and.. just generally uninformed.

..as for only two more shrek sequels. well. i don’t know. that information is as depressing as GW saying he’ll stay on for another four years regardless of the pain he’s causing.

Don’t make mad...you wouldn’t like her when she’s mad.

Geez. Would it kill someone to see two more Shrek movies? Or just not see them?
Look on the bright side. You have all the way until 2010 and 2013 before they come out.
Long time to forget the Shrek franchise before the next one comes out.

My favorite quote from the review:
“It is really hard to believe that this film made it from script to storyboards and someone deciding to turn this into a full-length movie. “
Yes, when over 100 reviews (as measured by Rotten Tomatoes) give a thumbs up to the film, against 6 negative reviews, clearly, the creators were out of their mind.
I have no problem with a reviewer giving a bad review. There could be any number of personal reasons to dislike something. But to say that one could essentially act as a better director/producer than real professionals is absurd, and more glaring with the enormous positive response the movie has received from critics who have been in the business for decades. But I guess you don’t get as much attention if your reviews are modest, do you?

If you want to know the kind of animated movie Dana Place enjoys, simply see his review of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which he gave 4 stars. Umm… (Not that I didn’t own 30 Turtles action figures when growing up, but really...)

Dana Place, I salute your abilities!

Ok, I just saw Ratatouille, and I also saw TMNT in the theater, and I had fun at both. And as we all know that my opinion is the only good one. Besides, nothing could be as bad as FF2 this summer. Now don’t make me smash another coffee table.

Honestly, TMNT- but that is just because (for me) Rat started a bit slow. However, I’ll probably buy Rat the week it comes out on DVD while I’ll wait on TMNT.
I know, I make NO sense. I’m weird like that.

Personally, I really liked “Ratatouille.” It combined wonderful animation, culinary prowess and Brad Bird.

Not much more I could ask for. And definitely better than Pixar’s last few releases (I stand by it--"Cars" sucked).

That said, it is probably my least favorite of Bird’s movies, by default. “Incredibles” and “Iron Giant” are incredibly hard to top.

Anyone else think Janeane pulled off an impressive French accent? I honestly didn’t even know that was her until the credits rolled.
