Did they find his stash of D&D books and the Judas Priest on his iPod? If I were of his type would they enter my Lego collection into evidence on the nightly news?
Really, this can only make Hunting Humans a sought after curiosity for those who watched this news report. There’s no such thing as bad publicity?
Also, let this be a lesson to those who use social networking sites like myspace. Don’t put an abundance of evidence of yourself and where you live because anyone could be watching.
Yeah, you’ll see a rise in people looking out for copies of Hunting Humans. But, it’s got to feel weird as a creator to think that maybe one of your creations inspired someone to go on a killing spree. The truth is these type of people are sick and would have done this no matter what. Hunting Humans might have guided their activities but if it wasn’t this film, it would have been something else.
The book The Collector by John Fowles is said to be the handbook that most serial killers read. It’s a very disturbing book.
Maybe you can start putting “as seen on CNN” on all the boxes.
Or maybe you can get the guy to review the movie for you. It can say “Crazy Trucker gives Hunting Humans two thumbs up, it is the exciting thrill ride of the summer.”

LOL…you owe me a new keyboard. I spit Sprite all over it.
Well, the how do I feel about it is hard to explain, but since it’s just us here and no one will ever see anything I post here… :)
From purely an egotistic standpoint it was kind of cool. I’ve been a “fan”(read: morbid fascination with) of serial killers for a LOOOOONG time. I’ve read just about every book out there about them. So to think that my flick could be a footnote to an actual serial killer’s story is one of those things that on first look is kind of cool.
But when you consider the reality of it—that this guy was out there killing actual people—this isn’t a movie—well, obviously it’s pretty tragic and horrifying at the same time. Unnerving is how I put it in an interview I did recently for a newspaper.
Monetarily it means nothing to me, since I’ve licensed the film out for a flat fee for 15 years(about 9 remaining) so it’s not like additional press helps me.
Now if a homicidal clown starts killing people with a copy of FOC in his murder van, then I’ll be rolling in the green!
:)
Hah, I just bought Hunting Humans at the used dvd store. It was 3.99 but the cashier told me that she watched it and gave me a dollar off cause it wasn’t worth it, Sorry Kangas:( . Oh well, now to call my buddies to get the booze so we can watch this bad boy.

Well if the girl at the used dvd store doesn’t know what’s great, then I don’t know who does! You can totally trust that girl’s opinion.
You just tell her, 9 out of 10 serial killers prefer it to Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer.
:)
Oh, and hey, a little warning to anyone about to buy Hunting Humans—make sure you get the one that says REDRUM or MTI Home Video at the bottom left of the back. If your copy says TRINITY then it’s CRAP—it will not contain any of the extras that it says it contains and will says SCREENER COPY ONLY on the actual movie.
You may have to buy one used from Amazon or eBay—just have the seller check to see which copy it is before you get it.
And no, I have no idea what the deal is with the Trinity ones; I only know the problem exists.

Keep pimping brotha!
Do you get any report on sales of your movies? If so has there been a jump?
Pimpin’? I’m telling people to buy ‘em used on Amazon—nobody but the seller makes money there. I mean, yeah, you can still buy the MTI version from my web site, but I’m down to my last 5 copies. (Is that what you mean by pimpin’? :)
And no, I don’t get any reports or further money from HH—I licensed it for 15 years on a buyout deal.
But it’s jumped 40,000 spots on the imdb pro moviemeter in the past 2 weeks, so there’s definintely interest.

That’s because it’s actually pretty good. Fear of Clowns was bad to the point of being laughable (hence the FoC Scale), but HH was a really clever concept in my opinion. Most of the issues I had just come from it being made on a low budget (poor acting, etc.). Given a sizable budget, it could have been a high quality flick. Or an episode of Dexter :P
Despite that, we at NOTLP totally take credit for that jump in credibility.
