Just watched flying guillotine (again), and I still say the kung fu’s sub-par! Watched B@st@rd swordsman 1 for the first time and absolutely loved it, right up my street. This has probably been mentioned before, but have the guys mentioned any of the great ‘Mr Vampire’ movies? (Ching-Ying Lam was a GOD) or ‘Close encounters of the spooky kind’?  My kind of cheesy fun!

OMG, just caught up and watched ‘8th diagram pole fighter’! WHAT A MOVIE!!! (That 6th brother needed a slap though)

just saw dragon tiger gate, a new donnie yen flick and donnie is a fricking god.  the fights in this film were amazing and there was this one scene where this guy makes an impenetrable force field by spinning nunchukas around.  classic.

When I had down time, it was a flick fest. What better way to get your mind off work and college courses???

Spoilers avoided:[/b]

Inside (Deserves it’s own thread)

The Bucket List (not bad)

Rambo (pretty darn cool) (WOW the bloody shock values was WAY up there! Old-Rambo fans my have been quite unprepared for that one!)

Dario Argento : The Card Player (loved the story and how it played out I would like to see a more dramatic version made some day)

The Signal (Liked this one a lot! However, the ending blew)

Awake (Not to bad for whinny boy)

Alien vs. Predator 2 (blah)

Over Her Dead Body (ok)

Bee Movie (funny as hell in spots, but I was drinking…)

The Eye (Not to bad at all for a remake of a flick that scared the hell out of me. I jumped a few times)

P.S. I Love You (Sob! Guilty Pleasure!)

27 Dresses (blah)

Dario Argento : Deep Red (no where near the impact it had on my as a 6 yr old and the story was sort of blah too. Needs it’s own thread too...)

Heathers (always fun!)

Session 9 (editing I think. It just didn’t stick with me. Nevertheless, I loved the ending in this one!)

There Will Be Blood ( MUCH too long winded but a great story)

May (Freaky but cool)

Crazy Eights (what a waste of time!!)

Do You Like Hitchcock? (boring, never finished it)

Frogs (LOL! I love these types of flicks! Day of the Animals! Phase IV , etc….  Awesome fun to relive them!) (WOW did Sam Elliot look GOOD!!!)

I personally found Casey Affleck mesmerizing as the young man who looks at and idolizes Jesse James with an almost childlike wonder/worship. I thought he was pretty creepy in the part, yet in the last 20 or 30 minutes, I found myself sympathetic towards him.. I agree that the film was a major slow burn and some would find it overlong, but I definitely didn’t. It’s a f*cking shame that this(and Zodiac) got completely ignored at the Oscars. I thought Brad Pitt was good as James, and did a good job conveying James’ sense of weariness and paranoia. I for one, think that people(not saying you Samurai, but people in general) discount Pitt as an actor because of how pretty he is. I personally think he’s a very good actor, who doesn’t let vanity get in the way of a meaty role that he wants to do.

Couldn’t agree more on all points. I think it is a great film (if not a bit drawn out) along with Zodiac. I actually ran to the libary an requested the audio version of The Zodiac. Well worh the listen.

Also thought “The Strangers” was pretty good , but I think “Them” was better, not sure why. Either way great horror films.

What surprised me the most was how much I loved “The Happening”! It was a blast, funny, tense and it pulled zero punches! I am so rarely surprised by movies anymore! What a plesent change! Best Horror flick I have seen in a VERY long time!

saw a few good ones last night.
invisible target- new HK action flick that felt like it came from the 90s when ringo lam and john woo were doing there best stuff.
human lanterns-a sahw brothers horror film about a man bent on revenge making lanterns out of human skin, has lo lieh in it and was very creepy.
botched-this was a great black comedy, that would make a great double feature with the cottage.  i luaghed out loud several times duirng this one, the 2 best characters were peter and boris.

Dear god, I didn’t even recognize him in that.  So young!

I recently watched Iron Man and had a blast.

On a very negative note, I watched Incubus(the one with Tara Reid, not the ultra awesome 80’s one).  I’m such a masochist.

the gingerdead man-had to see this one with garey buse as the titular character, this was just cheesy fun.
the machine girl-man this was an awesome frigging film, it was like the pu evil dead 2, dead alive and kill bill and threw it in a blender and this was what they came up with.  this film is defintely an instan classic.
finishing the game- a mocumentary on trying to rpelace bruce lee after he died in the game of death, very funny, and twisted.
futurama:the beast with a billion backs-this was even better than benders big score, these films just keep getting better and cannot wait for Bender’s game.
evil bong- great cheesy flick with tommy choong, tim thomersin and bill moseley in bit parts.

Just watched “Asso” on the Italian TV channel. A typical Adriano Celentano comedy from 1981.  It has Edwige Fenech in it. As always a pleasure to observe. Some laughs in it as well. Overall a re-watchable movie.

Just watched HELLS GROUND from Pakistan and KARAOKE TERROR from Japan.  I loved Karaoke Terror, what a fun movie and Hell’s Ground was a pleasant view and it was nice to see a zombie, gore, serial killer movie from Pakistan.
