good evening…

new here but been listening to cinema diabolica for a couple months. I am anal, so as with ggtmc, I am trying to listen to all the podcasts now from the beginning.

I can’t ever make up my mind to give definite top lists, so giving my favorite movie is often more a chore than a pleasure. i’d say right now though I’ve really been into zombie films. this stays a constant with me as I am always drawn to post apocolyptic themed stories for some reason. human survival and empty cities are just sexy

big into lucha libre schlock and japanese vinyl toys… more the crude patchi (fake) kaiju and random gorillas and wrestlers though, as I’ve never seen/gotten into much of the movies and television that the toys are based on

anyway, as I’ve said on ggtmc’s corner of the thread, I’m excited to catch up completely and watch these films along with the weekly reviews. like my own private bookclub for movies in my head!

Oh, let’s see here quickly:

Been perusing a lot of horror/cult/exploitation oriented podcasts for the past month or so and was becoming increasingly frustrated with the wealth of mediocrity out there that these amateurs pass off as entertainment—that is until I inadvertently stumbled upon Cinema Diabolica! I’m hooked.
I’ve now officially listened to every episode for the past 2 weeks whilst at work (that’s approximately 65-70 hours of your soothing voices twanging off in my head in such a short period of time!) and I’m not tired out yet…that must be a testament to something. You guys do a terrific job, and don’t take that for granted.
My minor contribution will be my word of mouth to friends, joining the forum/legion, voting, and pimping you at my own board…plus other boards I am a concrete member of.

Thanks again, guys!

(...as a side-note, I hope that everything I contribute here will not be as ass-kissy as this post. In time, I hope I can actually grow to hate you. One can dream.)

Good day!

I blew my first post in the “Pink Eigstravaganza” thread already but who’s counting.  Like many of you, I’m a long-time horror and exploitation fan (20+ years) and grew up in the golden era of drive-ins and rental video to keep the hunger for those films going.  My area of interest is Japanese film - from the classics to chambara to pinku to the current “soap-opera” variety.  I spent several years in Japan and, in that time, tracked down some rare films for my ever-growing and made some good contacts in the underground film industry.

Anyway, I’m actually a long-time NOTLP listener and had always intended to give this show a listen but constantly forgot.  Good for me because now I have the whole CD back catalog to go through at work!

Hey all!

I’m ‘Cash Bailey’, coming at you from sunny (and bloody hot) Australia. I love Cinema Diabolica and I’ll be putting my two cents worth in every now and then.

Cheers.

Hey, i’m jason. 26 and work at a video store in new york city that has woefully few fulci films, but tons of larry cohen films. No new gladiators or seven gates of hell, but it lives and wicked stepmother aplenty!

A little more about my tastes. I grew up on troma and old italian exploitation films. Favorite movie is John Woo’s A Better Tomorrow. Fun stuff.

I’ve been listening to CD since B-movie Bastards stopped updating their podcast and called quarantine a “good” film. I was looking up cult podcasts hoping for a podcast on cults, but stumbled apon the popsyndicate stuff and the three sister podcasts and night of the living podcast. So far i eagerly await each new podcast. Huge fan.

Not sure if this will benefit anyone, but i’ve got a copy of “Let my puppets come” starring everyone’s favorite demented midget that i might be able to send out sometime for F13 and DZ to watch and scream in frustration and confusion as al goldstein gets a puppet blowjob while singing vaginas dance around. It’s that bizarre.

Hey everyone, my name is Dana but I am a male. I’ve been listening to the show for a few months now, but have caught up on all the episodes.  I live in the East Bay and listen to Cinema Diabolica and Outside the Cinema every day on my way to and from work and school.

Through the podcast and these forums I’ve learned about tons of different movies that I had never even heard of before, so thanks. S+M Hunter was amazing by the way.  Keep playing the metal, punk, and hardcore!

You’re pretty close then.

Maybe someday we will put the CinemaDiaboliCon plan into effect.

Hey guys..

I’m Sabrina.  I’ve posted over on the NOTLP forums a few times, which is how I found out about a bunch of the PopSyndicate podcasts..  I’m a huge movie/music geek, and into independent/intelligent film in other flavors, like Silent Film,  classic b/w, other stuff like that.  I’d heard about Argento stuff before, and Giallo, but I didn’t know much about them.  I grew up watching horror and sci-fi movies pretty much since the time I could rent VHS tapes and spend all my weekends with everything I could get my hands on.

One of my first experiences with the type of stuff CD talks about was when I was in college, there was this tiny little independent video store in the town where my apartment was that had all kinds of wierd, rare, obscure and cult films and I saw this wierd box for something called Mondo Cane.  I don’t need to say any more, ‘cos, hey..  you did it for me and everyone’s heard that ep by now, right?

Anyways, I’m 31, a fan stuck in a crappy part of Illinois (West of Chicago),  recently divorced, and suffering with a really crappy broadband connection.  Thankfully I have Netflix though.  I love the show, ‘cos you guys seriously make me laugh, but I’m also learning a lot about film genres I had no knowledge of before, really.  And a lot of movie suggestions I have to get my netflix to queue up.

Figured it was time to say hi and all that..

-Sabrina

Hey Sabrina, good Wednesday to you.

We’ve mentioned Chicago a few times on the show. I think we kinda dig it. I recall that city having anatomically correct horse statues. Windy indeed.
