I’m new to the site and a new listener of the show. Funny I found Cinema Diabolica through a random act of google, trying to prove that “The Rebirthening” is not a movie. Who would of known I’d stumble on to your first episode of the show and be hooked for life.
I dig movies in every sense of the word, love going to shows and rockin’ out as much as I can, working out my PS3 and cooking up a storm.
I love the show, you guys have so many great recommendations and make me laugh out loud. Looking forward to more greatness soon :)
My name’s Jason and I just recently discovered the wonder that is Cinema Diabolica. I been listening to every episode in order and I’m up to the Cannibal episode and I’m totally digging the show. Can’t wait to hear the rest!
I already called and left a voicemail but I was drinking and already forgot what I said. That might be fun.

What up every one?! My name is Matt and I have been a listener for a while now. I really enjoy the show and the films you guys cover each week...good mix of stuff I have heard about and some things that I am hearing about for the first time. Keep up the good work.
Oh...and I do gotta ask...no good white rappers exist?!
It’s a good thing you put that caveat in about Jewish not being “white” as the Beasties OWN in every which way… I’m determined to find one to try and prove you wrong.. I’m not a fan of Marshall Mathers, but I do have to give credit where credit is due; the man is talented… BTW you seem to have left a few numbers out of the voicemail in your signature duder…
edit: The Streets are sick, sick, sick man. Very unique delivery, great lyrics. Skinner’s first 2 albums are first class. Here’s a few examples..
That english stuff isn’t hip hop, it’s called grime and I do actually like it a lot.
Beastie Boys are okay, Paul’s Boutique and Check your head are the only two that get play from me, the rest is either retreads of older releases or lame party music.
I’ve been into hip hop since 1988 when I saw the Stetsasonic video for Talkin all that Jazz and it just burns my ass to see all these suburban asshats that don’t know anything outside of the DefJux and RhymeSayers catalogs treat Atmosphere like the second coming.
Thanks for the welcome!
Yeah and Atmosphere has some skills but his music is very underwhelming. I do really like the Def Jux crew though, namely El-p, Aesop rock, and Cage as far as white dudes go. A guy outta Canada that I really like that is not of the pale complexion is K-os...not straight up hip hop but just great music that infuses a lot of styles, check out “Joyful rebellion” if you wanna hear a great album.

Good call Matt; I was promoting K-OS on here in a music thread a while ago, he really is a talented musician with a wide range of influences.. Another good Canadian is Kardinal Offishall.. His old stuff is great..

Ive never heard of Kardinal Offishall but will definitely check him out...K-os is one of my favorite musicians and I actually got to meet him last year after a show in Boston...he was very good live but it was a short set due to him being second billed.
El-p can actually lay down some quality beats AND the Leak Bros record was mindblowing. That’s the only stuff from Cage I liked and I’ve heard it all. Aesop Rock is a cornball hippy, nuff said.
Recent listens include, Masta Killa, MF Doom, Monster Island Czars, and the GZA record, Liquid Swords (The best Wu-Tang record period.)

Ahh...MF Doom is one of my favorite rappers around...and I love all of his “Monikers” Victor Vaughn, MadVillian etc… And completely agree with you about Liquid Swords being the best Wu record and is always in my rotation. I am also a big fan of Kool Keith and his many different characters that he raps under. I haven’t ever heard Monster Island Czars but will give it a listen if you mention it with the rest of those artists.
Watch a lot of crap from horror to bad Steven Seagal.
Currently watching Nick Love movies.
Always keeping an ear out for the next horror movie to hunt down.
Hi, my name is John. I live on the east coast. Some of My favorite movies are: Dr. Strangelove: Or How Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, Trainspotting, Weekend, Fight Club, Shaun of the Dead, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, and Raging Bull. My favorite directors are David Fincher and Kubrick. I only really got into film 2 years ago so I need a lot of good suggestions to catch up with most of you. Some of my favorite books are 1984, The Monkey Wrench Gang(the funniest smurfin book ever!), A Clockwork Orange, and Siddhartha. I wont list my favorite music because it would be way to long…
