Just finished it--outstanding story that’s part Neuromancer part Blade Runner. It’s set in the not so distant future where the world is divided into haves and have-nots and run by a single, police-state government. There’s also a new religion called the Electric Church, which promises immortality by putting your brain in a cybernetic body.
Hitman Avery Cates falls, always on the wrong side of the law, is contracted for a big job, setting him on a collision course with the Electric Church. He’ll get an opportunity to see for himself whether the rumors of forced conversions are true, or propanganda from a threatened totalitarian state.
Best sci-fi in a long time.
