Dear Euro, your music sucks

It’s time for a Dustbin with Dustin wherein we destroy Europe’s top ten songs and Marc makes a Bus Stop and decides it’s time to grow up, get fit, and move on.

A lot of Euro music sucks.  Sweden has more rock than dance music.

BTW, wouldn’t Amy Winehouse be the Euro Amy Winehouse?

Amy Winehouse is not the Euro Amy Winehouse. She was born in Britain.

Um.....I know that not a lot of Americans have maps and all, but isn’t Britain/England/the U.K part of Europe?  And isn’t Euro a shortened word for European, as in being of Europe?

Just wondering, but what do I know.  I’m a girl.....

HAHAHAHA

Denotatively (geographically that is), the UK and Republic of Ireland are considered part of Europe, both of which are islands of the European continent.

However, connotatively, by both UK citizens and Irish and right-thinking people everywhere, they are not part of Europe; they are English and Irish.

Of course by contrast, the Republic is officially part of the European Union now, but who’s going to turn down a free ride on an easy woman in her prime, especially when you know those boobs could fall any day on the whim of one of her suitors.

You’re argument makes no sense.  How do the people of GB not consider themselves European?  They are born on the continent of Europe.  That’s like saying Japanese don’t consider themselves Asian because Japan isn’t attached to the mainland.

So by your argument, Iceland, Sweden, Finland and Norway aren’t part of Europe either.

All I can tell you are facts, holmes as experienced by talking to both Britons and Irish, as well as reading.

There is the geographic identity and then there is the perceived identity, which is established by the peoples themselves.

So their national identity isn’t European.  Swedes don’t thing of themselves as Europeans any more than Americans think of themselves as North Americans.  Doesn’t change the fact that we’re North Americans and Brits are Europeans.

So that still makes Amy Winehouse the Euro Amy Winehouse.

So recklessly changing topics… It’s interesting that you’re shoring back your comic collecting right when I JUST got back into reading comics.

I got that way.  I collected so many books that it took the fun out of reading.  I cut back on all the crap I wasn’t enjoying and my enjoyment level jumped up.

I just traded in six boxes this week, kept 1 for myself. Got about $350 in store credit at Lone Star total.

I’ve bought Captain America: Winter Soldier 1&2;, Squadron Supreme, Runaways Hardcover Vols 1-2, Exiles v2, Young Avengers Hardcover V1. Waiting to get the Wanted Hardcover.

I just started reading Goon, Trials of Shazam, and got the first two books of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, the first Tom Strong book, and the first two Shazam - The Monster Society of Evil.

Fabulous.

I love Captain Marvel and Black Adam but I was SO underwhelmed by Trials and disappointed by Black Adam: The Dark Age.
