Creatures From The Abyss?

Does anyone have any suggestions for some sea-beastie related movies?  I need some obscurity and I figured this was the place to go.

Keep in mind that I am well aware of:
Piranha
Lake Placid
Leviathan
Deep Rising
Kracken: Tentacles of the Deep
Deep Blue Sea
Creatures From the Abyss (or Plankton, for those in the know)
and that’s where my brain craps out.

Giant squids, sharks, frogs and any other form of aquatic or amphibian life is fine, as long as it’s either a) fun or b) awfully fun.

Ha ha, I love Deep Blue Sea. It’s good fun.

As for suggestions… it seems like you’ve mostly nailed the “main” ones. How about Octopus I and II?

Well, there’s Kraa! The Sea Monster (from some of the people behind Zarkorr! The Invader, if you saw that one).  It’s pretty awesomely corny.

Aquanoids you might get a kick out of, just because of the many, many homages, rip-offs, and references to other sea creature horror films.  Be warned, though:  it really is terrible.

The plainly-titled Frogs is something I’ve enjoyed a few times, though it’s also pretty awful.  Apparently it’s one of Bruce Campbell’s least favorite horror films.

Frankenfish I think I genuinely liked.  The fish effects were pretty cool, and the characters were slightly less obnoxious than the usual monster movie protagonists.

Does Dagon count?  Not technically sea creatures, but very visually similar, and the whole thing takes place in a seaside town.

Man, sea horror looks to be a pretty weak subgenre when you actually stop and consider it’s entries.

Good call on the Campbell list.  I completely forgot about Humanoids From The Deep.

There are all the Jaws-rip, er, homages from Italy:

The Last Shark:  Enzo Castellari
Deep Blood:  Joe D’amato
Cruel Jaws:  Bruno Mattei
Monster Shark:  Lamberto Bava

Are they awful?  You betcha.  And awfully fun.  However, you’re probably going to have to get them off eBay, since they’re not available (I think) in the U.S.  All mine (and yes I own all four) come from dvdr.  Late

NOTLP recommends Plankton but only for the laughs not for the quality.
The Shark Attack Series (Kinda tired, kinda wired….)
Open Water
Baracuda
Chupacabra takes place on a boat…. It is hillarious!!!!
The Deep has one of my FAVORITE keywords “Nipples Visible Through Clothing” on IMDB but no beasties…..
Primeval was terrible

I always had a fondess for Mako:Jaws of Death, starring the man Richard Jaeckal.  I would highly recommend it to anybody it has a real sleaze factor to it.

As I recall, there was a remake of Humanoids from the Deep as part of a little project that Roger Corman and Showtime did about 10 years ago. I remember it being rather bloody - so that might be good.

Dagon sorta counts, I guess.

My friends reminded me of two movies that I loved as a kid, but haven’t seen since: Alligator and Orca.  Brilliance.
