So, I just thought all of you listeners should know that I’m strong…. has become part of our everyday verbiage. Plus, we’re all going to the gym at nite and need your support! SO, tell us what you do to motivate and reward yourself for getting healthier.
I work out from home just because every time I went to gym all the machines were being used. I don’t reward myself for working out, but I do feel bad on the days I feel lazy or hung over and don’t work out.
Instead of rewarding yourself for working out you should just punish yourself for not working out. I think every time you don’t work out you should be shocked with Andy’s taser.
The punishment for not working out could be a “Taste of Freddy.” Oh wait, would that be the punishment or the reward? I guess it depends on your perspective. You could always reward yourself with a nice game of Gums.
I watched about half of Invisible Man last night. When I was going to bed my dog was lying in my spot, so I pushed her out of the way and said “I’m strong, and I will strangle you”. My wife looked at me like I was crazy, as she often does.
I just joined a gym the other day, so I totally understand your need for motivation. You’d think that the whole “I’ll feel better and live longer” thing would be enough, but I’m basically a lazy person.
Ep 97 was pretty awesome - as funny and entertaining as you guys are, I do like the serious conversations.
Reward for working out should be a steaming bowl of Hot Beef Dumps. I’m just saying. Agreed that 97 was entirely up to snuff for you guys, but you havent had a misfire in awhile, if ever. Keep em comin. This show makes me look forward to Monday (I listen at work on my Zen).
I’ve been loving the “classics series.” Sure, sure, sometimes some of y’all get a bit too dismissive of the importance or worth of some of these films for my tastes, I still love hearing you guys talk about them. Good stuff, and you picked a really great film this past week with The Invisible Man. That’s a GREAT film. (I gotta tell you, though - my favorite of the “Universal Classic Monsters” films is Creature From the Black Lagoon. I’ve always questioned Universal’s linking this franchise with the Draculas and Frankensteins, though . . . )
As for gym-motivations - I got nothin’. I try to hit the gym between 2-4 times a week and hit the bike for about an hour. I watch a lot of the zombie movies I watch for my show on my iPod while there, so maybe that’s a motivating factor . . . unless I’m watching a crap zombie movie, then - not so much . . .
(I’m at 286 now . . . Once I hit 250, I’ll be a happier person . . . I have told myself that I’ll reward myself with a tattoo once I hit that weight, so maybe that’s a motivating factor for me . . . except needles scare the crap out of me . . . )
“Freddy” and “sweaty” rhyme. Just a little fun fact for you guys and gals.
We were just talking last night about how much fun the classics series has been for us. And because we’ve been choosing our classics by decade, we noticed that the 50s get a little crowded with horror classics. I think we might be expanding this series to more than a month. Would you guys be down with that?

I would love to hear more discussion of classic horror - I think it generally promotes some good intelligent discussions amongst yourselves. I also think it will be good for you all to see more quality horror films for the show, so Freddy quits recommending crap films like “Blood Car”.

Matimus, I have to agree with Freddy on “Blood Car.” I think it’s one of the funniest, most original comedies in years. I couldn’t stop laughing throughout this film. It’s not for everyone but there were so many things that were unexpected. Definitely original and definitely hilarious.

I kept waiting for it to be funny, but it never really got there for me. I though the concept was good, I just didn’t like the execution.

I still love you. I can totally understand not liking this movie. It does have a very specific delivery that could easily grate on one’s nerves. I just was in the right mood and this came at exactly the right time.
I’ve only got up to the news but thought I would answer your UK question.
Gavin and Stacey is a sit com on the BBC. It’s pretty funny actually. It’s about two people who talk on the phone all the time because they work for the same company and end up falling for each other. The catch being that one lives in London the other in Wales (there’s a fairly big gap between the two places). I know that sounds dull and girly, but the genius of the show is in the characters who aren’t Gavin or Stacey. Kind of like Will and Grace - Karen and Jack were way better! It also focuses on stereotypes of both Wales and England. Well written comedy.
Anyway thought I’d let you know because it’s not oftern I know something that you guys don’t.
I’m off to listen to the rest of the show know I have bored everyone.
