As we all await the new action movie podcast, we all are aware that the direct-to-DVD market has an abundance of “incredible” action flicks released weekly.  Forget ‘Die Hard’, ‘Rambo’, and other quality flicks as we all know that they are excellent films.  Here’s my question:  Who is your favorite cheesy action movie superstar?  Do you love Chuck Norris for his beard?  Do you prefer Steven Seagal and his ponytail?  Or are you a fan of Jean Claude Van Damme and his sexy accent?  So many choices…

Such a difficult choice.  You could have easily added Frank Stallone, Don ‘The Dragon’ Wilson, Cynthia Rothrock, or Brian Bosworth.  The possibilities are truly endless…

I voted for Chuck out of that group.  This is a true story. I had just gotten in trouble about not doing my homework while I was in high school. My mom had just yelled at me and made me go to my room to do school work for the rest of the day. I was in my room for about an hour when my dad tells me to come downstairs. I thought I was in trouble again, he proceeds to tell me that this is my homework and we watch Missing in Action on tv. My dad went crazy during the scene when they put the rat and sack on Chuck’s head and he bites the rat. My mom was pissed but I will never forget that day, it happened about 19 years ago and I remember it well.

Also while in college my roommates and I had some people over and rented a couple movies for background noise. One was Grumpy Old Men which was funny and the other was Invasion USA which everyone stopped what they were doing to watch the greatness.

If you have not watched Lone Wolf McQuade then you are missing out on one of the greatest car scenes in history.

So yes Chuck wins it for me.

I did see Time Cop at the theater which I did not like and Jean Claude seems like an ass.

I lost all respect for Seagal after On Deadly Ground, all he did during the movie was kick people in the balls. I can do that and probably for a cheaper price.

I have not liked Dolph in anything except Rocky 4.

Sorry for the long post, I have been off work all week and drinking tonight.

When I was creating the poll, I had about 5 more names on the list(Speakman, Snipes, etc.), but when I posted it, it only put up the first four.  Not sure how that worked.

Your poll is invalid as it does not feature any of the lovely ladies from Charlie’s Angels 1 & 2.

My vote goes to Will Smith.

Speaking of Mr. Smith, does anyone else think that ‘Hancock’ trailer is awful?

Hancock does look terrible.  I had to vote for Mr. Norris because of The Octagon and Hero and the Terror.

To hell with the net kids, in the 80s, Chuck was the bomb.  He wasn’t a STV loser then, he had a string of movies that I believe did really well for him.  Van Damme has maybe 4 truly great movies to his credit and an endless list of crappy ones where looks like a moron for 90 minutes.  Seagal has only made one movie.  They simply refilm it each year in a new location with a new title.  Although, I do find myself loving Glimmer Man, but I stand by my claim that he stole that role from someone like Wesley Snipes.  The character didn’t fit him, at all, but it still somehow worked.  Then you have Dolph.  Wait?  Dolph?  Really?  He has been in 2 or 3 movies that matter and 2 of them only matter because of his co-stars (Rocky IV and Showdown in Little Tokyo).  The dude is beyond forgettable.

I gave Dolph a sympathy vote.  I just like the dude.  That, and I have no love for Jean Claude or Seagal.
