I wonder if Glenn Danzig knew that one day he would be resposible for starting a whole new genre of music.

Horror Punk is my favorite type of music, It’s also what saved the hardcore horror fan from endless mixes of Monster Mash and Bauhaus at Halloween parties.

What is your favorite group?

Everyone of course loves the Misfits and Wednesday 13 that’s a given.

I’m also really into Calabrese, Ghoultown, Graveyard Boulevard and a group out of Chicago called the Rosedales.  If you don’t know their music I suggest you look for them on myspace.  Some great stuff.

I’ve also been looking for a group called THEE MERRY WIDOWS.  But can’t find their CD.

And for even more fun… what did people think of the latest Michale Graves and Horrorpops albums?  I think they’re losing their edge.  Especially Graves.

My favorite rockabilly would be Reverend Horton Heat and the Red Elvises.  I’ve just started checking out the horror/psychobilly subgenre, but here’s a few I’ve bookmarked:

Time to start exploring.  I only know a few of those.

Not quite psychobilly but as there was discussion about murder ballads in this weeks episode, try some Those Poor Bastards, especially the album Hellfire Hymns.  It’s all that you would ever want from a group playing dirty, disturbed apocalyptic preacher fuzzy country folk.  Here’s a bad quality live video:
