I’m kinda not liking 2008 all that much. George Carlin was an amazing comedian who had that level of insightful genius you have to dig hard to find anywhere else.

I’m going to bed, this stuff is too much.

What an amazing impact he had on me humor wise! The catching a plane bit will be with me forever.

About this time, someone is telling you to get on the plane. “Get on the plane. Get on the plane.” I say, “smurfin you, I’m getting IN the plane! IN the plane! Let Evil Knievel get ON the plane!

I know we tend to talk cinema on these boards but George Carlin was an amazing comedian and my personal favorite. Carlin’s comedy was outrageous while at the same time it hit home with everyone in some capacity.

The word “genius” is thrown around rarely in the stand up comic world but Carlin was exactly that, go back and look at some of his routines and they still hold up quite well even today.

The world truly is a lesser place without the insight of George Carlin who saw humanity in a different light and made a lot of us laugh at how serious we take certain things in our society.

It’s terrible news…...RIP George Carlin.

Waking up to this news in my feed had me in a rotten mood all day, and I actually found myself reading several stories all reporting the same facts about the man and his death as if I might eventually run across something that said otherwise, like it might not be true…

He was such a great comedian and satirist, I know that the fascination I have with the way language shapes our perceptions is at least due in part to listening to his routines.

this almost has me questioning my eventual 2000GR8 tattoo…. :/
