I just downloaded The Toxic Avenger and started watching it, reminded me a bit of Darkman on well heroin, still a funny film, both really good

Are there any more non-comic comic book heroes?

I don’t trust wikipedia or steven speilberg

This is a tough one for some reason…..obviously Hancock will be coming out in a couple of weeks, so there is a new one for ya. How about this one…I loved it as a kid…..

CONDOR-MAN from 1981…..

Its silly actually but I have quite a bit of fun with this one…..I’ll see if I can think of some more…

Super Fudge…oh, wait. Nope, nevermind, can’t think of any right now.

No! I take that back. How about this little gem from the 80’s—Super Fuzz. I love what he is able to do with chewing gum. What a weird classic.

Yes, his weakness is the color red. There’s a punchline in the hero’s wedding about it at the end.

Remember the scene where he catches a bad guy’s bullets with his gun barrel?

Anyone remember the Scott Baio movie ZAPPED!?  I would like to see this one again.  I remember super-powers from smoking weed, Willie Aames (of course), Scatman Crothers, and boobs.

Zapped had a HORRIBLE sequel, it was as big a turd as Teen Wolf Too was for Teen Wolf.

I await the inevitable Zapped! remake.

There’s The Return Of Captain Invincible with Christopher Lee and Alan Arkin, but that’s more spoofy than played straight. I think John Ritter starred in a superhero comedy as well..

I guess Unbreakable would sort of count.

There were El Santo comics, but the films play by a different set of superhero rules.

And, of course there’s always BIBLE MAN.

The Greatest American Hero still stands as one of the best ever.  A superhero who lost the instruction manual is a terrific premise.
