The film is entitled “In Bruges” and I think it is a great freakin’ movie. It stars Brendan Gleeson, Colin Farrell and Ralph Fiennes and is the blackest of comedies. I wanted to post to see if anybody else had seen this film yet. It’s about two hitmen stuck in Belgium awaiting orders and involves violence, drugs and little people.

Ralph Fiennes puts in my new insane performance of the year…..he is just nuts in this film. Trust me everyone should check this one out…...put the post up for discussion…..hit me up on this one….it will divide people I think but even bad critcism I am interested in….....

I saw this in the theater a while back and thought it was pretty damn funny. They certainly don’t shy away from anything in this film. Colin Farrell was pretty good at playing a character who is kind of a dick but still pretty likable. The Ralph Fiennes character might have been too over-the-top if it wasn’t for the fact that it was Ralph Fiennes playing him.

Good flick, I’d recommend it as well.

I have a copy of this. I have wanted to watch it. But not have the chance.

It goes to the top of my pile now.

I picked this up earlier this week and will definitely check it out within the next week or so if my film taste soul mate speaks so glowingly of it.. I’m not the biggest fan of RAFE(it’s really RALPH) Fiennes, but it did look like it brought the funny.. I’ll be glad to post my thoughts as soon as I see it.

The only reason I’ll see this is because you recommended it and you got great taste.  The trailer looked good, but because it has f-stick Collin F-head in it who acts just a tad better than Hayden C-head from Star Wars - i didn’t want to chance it.  I got faith in ya brother, so I’ll probably enjoy it.

When it’s funny, it’s damn funny. Some of the dramatic elements were cool. Colin didn’t annoy me like I expected. Gleeson and Fiennes were great. The Jordan Prentice was pretty damn funny as Jimmy (apparently he was Howard in Howard the Duck, which is cool) .

But I can’t say I would watch it again. It felt uneven, going between drama to black comedy at strange intervals. I think I would have liked it more if the dramatic parts were done in a lower key or been largely absent.

‘We have a couple of hanky prostitutes and a racist dwarf. I’m leaving.’

‘Why didn’t you wave back when I waved to you earlier?’
‘I was on horse tranquilizers. I wasn’t waving to anyone. Except maybe a horse.’

Or what I think may be the funniest line….

“Man, you dont know how much shit I’ve had to take off of black midgets!”

Classic.

I disagree with you Diz, I think the film is very rewatchable, and I believe it will be considered quite the cult fav one day…..and the director is one to watch…..like I say not for everyone but for those that love this kind of thing…..they will have a blast…or be repulsed and have a blast.
