This week in Episode 23, Brother D takes on the zombie movie Awaken the Dead. Bren joins him as they cuddle up to Will Smith and watch the Fresh Prince take on . . . some kind of zombie/vampire/CG-creatures in I Am Legend.  The horror-celebrity-call-in-contest has been extended after an actor from a classic 80s zombie movie leaves Mail Order Zombie a voicemail.  All the listener emails, messages and voicemails are reviewed on the show, and the film scores from a recent zombie movie franchise get a little attention this week.  We’re still accepting Zombie Aptitude Test answers.  Also, some slight website changes are discussed, and an announcement about the new-and-official Mail Order Zombie message board drops.  Email the show at or leave a message at 206-202-2505.

I’m listening to the episode as we speak and I’m glad that you finally explained the origin of the “Uncle” in Uncle Romero.

You know, Bren and I listened to the episode this afternoon, and I kind of wish there was a more interesting explanation for the “Uncle Romero” bit!

Another excellent show!  Sorry I didn’t get a chance to write in this week.  Stay frosty.

I thought it made sense and you can’t really give it more of an explanation. A little mystery is good anyway. It sounds like it’s just one of those things that you started to say and never gave too much thought to.

Just now listening to the episode. I have been way behind. The last two have been great. I completely agree about the book issue too, I must stop buying more books. Thanks so much, Brother D and Bren.

Glad you’re still digging the show . . . !

And, for the record, I don’t think there’s any such thing as too many books . . . !  As much as I love my movies, I have to say that if there was ever one thing in the world that I feel I can never own too many of, it would be literature.  I’m just sayin’ . . . :)

Pertaining to the I Am Legend discussion, As far as Will Smith’s lab goes I got the impression that he built it up himself in his 3 years of lonely time.  Nothing in particular led me to believe that, but that’s just what I assumed! :D

Anyways, great ep!
