Black Santa’s Revenge - A valiant effort for this independent short film. Stars Ken Foree as a dejected Santa for orphans (I think they’re orphans. Either that or ghetto rats—it’s never really explained) and on Christmas eve, all the presents that were donated to the charity center were jacked by some thugs. So, of course Foree in his Santa regalia, does some investigating, finds the thugs, and guns em’ all down with his double-barreled shotgun and returns the presents to these kids who are in dire need of some form of Xmas. Story over. 20-some odd minutes long. The perfect amount of time to really get the story across on this throwback to revengsploitation films.
Sadly, it is shot on digital, so the picture kind of has that crisp, almost lucid-like quality to it…which I find reveals bad acting even more so for some reason. Therefore a lot of the secondary actors are exposed for their lack of emoting. Foree is great as always.
A quick burn. 20 minutes. Watch it for nostalgic purposes (yes, I was born in ‘82 and I’m being nostalgic about exploitation films from the 70’s).

Another needless plug for another needless gathering of geeks who salivate over the darker side of cinema:

Case Of The Bloody Iris
Really stylish giallo. Perfect looks, story is ok. Not that complex, not really original, but overall the movie is defnintely worth a watching.
