Cabin Fever was entertaining and I enjoyed it. If you didn’t that’s fine but I’m not touting it as having any kind of artistic merit, I’m just saying I enjoyed it.

I don’t like either of the Hostel films because I’ve seen the actual films that it takes from and I enjoyed them a great deal more. Hostel 1/2 (basically the same film) was rehash and just bored me.

That’s it.

Help you understand? It’s my opinion. There, understood.

Good, it’s opinion. I can get behind that. Sometimes there’s no explaining bad taste, but I totally get “opinion”

That’s a perfectly good explanation for not liking Hostel 1 and 2.  I like Psycho but hated the remake even though they’re the same movie.  The issue I had was whenever anyone on the “cinema” podcasts made a statement about a movie I hated or didn’t understand, there was nothing to back it up with other than more “cinema” jargon.  I’m a ley-person when it comes to this genre.  If it’s simply that indescribable feeling of enjoyment you get from watching a movie, then simply state that, I understand that.

I don’t know anymore.  I’m over the whole thing. I’m hoping I didn’t piss anyone off.

Felipe, what movies did Roth rip off for Hostel?

My favorite movie of all time, Lawrence of Arabia.

So I was going to let sleeping dogs lie, but I figured I could at least re-listen to Ep 86 of BRP to see what offended you so much.

First, I think it is clear that I took a contrary view to mess with Derek. Second, I also couch anything nice I say about the episode with statements like “it’s like being winner at the ugliest dog show.” Third, I explained why I liked what I liked and what worked for me.

OH the couching and the hedging of my statements! I couldn’t have qualified my statements any further!

I think we all just have to be okay with disagreeing and not threatening people’s gut regions.

By the way, I think it is fair (and necessary) to call us out if we don’t explain why we do or do not like something. However, I contend I did that.

Wow, I think this is the longest forum post in PBR history.  Haha

Good discussion, hoping Aaron didn’t warrant any death threats. LOL!

Shawshank Redemption has been my number 1 movie for years…I don’t see anything dethroning it anytime soon.

Lady, people aren’t chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. Bastard-coated bastards with bastard fillings.

When I graduated high school, all of us in the drama department gave each other little rock hammers as graduation gifts. ..  we were TOTALLY awesome!
