So I threw this one in yesterday and have to say I enjoyed it.
plot: So this guy like dies. And then escapes from hell. And then hell sends its reapers out to get him back. He has to solve the mystery of his death, find his lost fiancee, and work out family issues before he gets killed and sent back to the pit. Luckily he has other escapees helping him out.
Now this movie is definitely low budget, but it never feels like we are being deprived anything due to the budget. It still has lots of blood and effects and it takes itself pretty seriously. The acting is pretty damn good for a bunch of nobodies in Atlanta as well.
The movie seems to be more action than horror with lots of Matrix influence. The Reapers are hardcore fighters with the coldness of a T-800 and the ability to regenerate like an Agent. I think it’s great that they use dead bodies to occupy and hunt with. And I think it’s even cooler that they carry spare bodies around in case their current host dies again and they need to switch.
Most of the comedy hits well and the stunts are nice. There is a documentary on how they did the stunts.
So for a first timer, this Bishop guy (director) did an excellent job. I’d like to see what he does with some funding. But the only way that’ll happen is if word gets out that he’s good. So go see it and spread the word.
